[Innova] Innova Daedalus

Looks like the name worked: more people talking about that than the disc itself.

Not sure what distinguishes this from the Tern on first glance; I suppose this is a little faster?

it would be close to a star tern but not a champ.

"To escape, Daedalus built wings for himself and Icarus. They successfully flew from Crete, but Icarus' wings melted when he flew too close to the sun, and he drowned in the sea. Daedalus buried his son and continued to Sicily, where he came to stay at the court of Cocalus."

I stand corrected. Daedalus flew he just didn't fly directly at the sun. Maybe Daedalus is a better name for a disc than "person who flew into the sun and melted"

A new Vulcan. meh.
Yea, but it doesn't look like it has that weird Flat edge where the rim meets the plate, like the Vulcan or archon. So it will be affected by the wind a little different. In my experience the Vulcan and Archon get batted down by the wind more than other discs, and don't like to be thrown low.

Hey it's probably a better version no doubt, I just personally won't ever use it. My champ Tern is plenty flippy for me.

I always thought Daedalus made it because he didn't fly so high.

Yep just double checked the myth. Daedalus made it, while Icarus flew too close and fell out of the sky into the sea and drowned.

So...
If they ever release the Icarus, it won't be a floater.
But the Daedalus won't need to float, because it'll take the appropriate flight path; apparently a nice glidey low flyer suitable for low ceilings. Got it! ;)

Paul McBeth rolls his gStar Krait.
You insinuating Mc Beast "rolls his own?"

Isn't Diety Discs going with names of gods for their molds?
Is Innova getting in on some kind of name war?

Daedalus was not a god, just a crafty human.

You get what I'm getting at right?

Innova has used names from mythology for many years. This includes not only Greek or Roman Mythology but Norse, Persian and Native American myths.

Roc - Approved 1987. Which does pre-date Diety Discs by about 27 years.

Other INNOVA disc names drawn from mythology (and the year the disc was approved).

Phenix (sic) -1988
Griffin - 1993
Pegasus - 1997
Thunderbird aka TeeBird - 1999
Firebird - 2000
Valkyrie - 2000
Hydra - 2004
X-Caliber (sic) - 2008
Vulcan - 2010
Daedalus - 2014

...and some I likely missed.

Which came first, INNOVA or Deity?
