[Mids] considering a new mid...

I think he said he was new to the game in another thread. The Truth is a nice mid though.

The Buzz and Truth are very similar. I'd give a slight edge to the Buzz only because it's available in more types of plastic and easier to find. IMO Discraft has the best mids on the market. That being said, my Lucid Air Truth is filling the lightweight Buzz slot prettyyyyyyyy pretty good.

I've played around with a lot of mids, but I've finally settled on a couple of Rocs (1 Star San Marino, 1 CE San Marino), and an MVP Tangent. They pretty much cover every line I need to hit, and consistently. If I lost all my discs today, the first thing I'd pick up would be a Roc. The Tangent is nice because the more power I put on it, the more turn I get out of it, where the Rocs I have to put some anny on to get the same effect (I can throw as hard as I want and the Roc isn't going to turn hardly at all). That said, I only pick up my Tangent on occasion, and have been trying to use my Rocs for everything so I can consolidate to a single mold.

I had a Legacy Gauge which was laser straight too, so if the bead on a Roc isn't your thing, the Gauge would be the next best thing (in my experience anyway). Ended up shanking it into a pond one day though, and I haven't replaced it. I like the Buzzz too, just not as much.

Wow, thanks for all the suggestions...I've got quite a few to consider. Most of my friends have either buzzes or fuses and I have a buzz GT I picked up yrs ago...the one with the dip running around the top. I didn't give it a fair chance since I had my hawk but might try it again or might go with a new buzz.

Axiom theory. Straightest disc I have thrown.

At low power its up there...No polecat but its a laser' The buzzz (in z plastic) is way more OS and faster than most people need in a midrange. Axis/rocs/truths etc are all in that same boat. THey can fly straight but not as easily as slower mids which are more point and shoot.

I use the Vector as a fairway driver pretty much while tangent, theory and my putter are the straight flying approach discs.

Should feel very similar to you

I agree with AIM on the control of the slower mids.
The Alias is super straight and very controllable. It doesn't turn like the Tangent when thrown with power, it just goes further on the same straight line. You have to put the angle on it to turn it or snap it hard.

If you want more control than that the Envy is like a laser and sneaky long for a putter.

Axis was my longest mid, and yes, I would call it a better Buzzz, it punishes form more, so completely the opposite of what Elm said, if you throw with OAT or have problems with nose angle, it won't be great for you like the Buzzz, which is more forgiving. Basically, if you have better form, and want it for more distance, the Axis is better than the Buzzz, if you don't, and aren't worried about improving your release, get the Buzzz.

If you want straight up control, get something slower like a Roc or Alias.

There are SO many good mids out there. For a straight true mid.

All these suggestions are good. So then it comes down to look, plastic, and feel.

My suggestions are M4 , Buzzz SS, Mako3, But that's just discs I'm familiar with.

I love my M4 though, it's fast enough and glidey enough to handle a LOT of shots. Straight to slightly US, but usually has a hyzer fade to it. M4 is probably the most popular Prodigy disc and for good reason.

For a fairway with same characteristics I highly recommend an F5. Game changing disc for me.

Also the Innova Atlas is very straight, a lot like an M4. But the Atlas has those lil notches on the underneath. But really SO many good straight mids out there.

If you can learn how to throw it, the most accurate midrange is probably a Comet.

Comets are awesome but they can't handle the power as much (they will ride US), they are slower and glidey, which is GREAT when you need it. I throw an original Mako for this shot now, I dropped the Comet for my Meteor Buzz combo, now I use M5, M4, M3, M2 for almost all mid shots, It's like having an US Buzz, Straight Buzz, New Buzz and Buzz OS, in terms of flight and stability, or having 4 rocs in all stages of wear and plastics. Its all personal preference, no wrong answer.
