2019 Pros Switching Sponsors Official Thread

So is McBeth basically pulling a Prodigy 2.0?

He was pretty much the only big name to not bite when they launched...sit and observe for a few years and then execute it the right way?

Ok, so:

Paul McBeth: Innova -> Unknown (probably Discraft, though)
Ricky Wysocki: Latitude 64 -> Unknown (Innova speculated)
Paul Ulibarri: Prodigy -> Unknown (Discraft speculated)
Chris Dickerson: Prodigy -> Re-signed with Prodigy
Nate Sexton: Innova -> Re-signed with Innova
Kevin Jones: Prodiscus -> Unknown (Literally every company speculated)

Who am I missing?

Simon Lizotte: Discmania -> Re-signed with Discmania

Drew & ricky on social media.

I've met Drew in person a few times and I'm kinda neutral on him overall, but I've gotta clarify what went on there. One of his clothing sponsors came up with the idea of creating car-themed stamps for their players and making a small run of fundraiser discs with them. Drew's was based on the Corvette logo obviously. (Side note, he actually sold his Corvette this year to get cash for a down payment on a house.) Drew wasn't involved in the design at all, other than approving the result. After the backlash on Reddit, those discs ended up being given out in a player's pack for an event I played.

Drew took all the heat for that, but I'm looking right now at a Philo DX Cadillac Roc. In that same pack were a Josh Anthon Star Boss and an Izak McDonald Luster Firebird, both of which have modified car logos I've seen before but can't fully place. These were all Innova-sponsored players, not DD. BTW, I have a Philo DX Cadillac Roc, an Anthon Star Boss, and an IMAC Luster Firebird for sale, all unthrown.

I havent seen the other ones but Im surprised as well that Innova would allow this to happen.

No way Ricky is going to Innova now that Nate is also promoted to team captain. DD needs a solid younger MPO player, perhaps that's the move. It would make sense, Ricky could still use his current bag. hmmm.....

I doubt that Ricky would move laterally to DD, the way the post from Lat64 sounded was like he was leaving for good. I dont think they would have worded things the way they did if he was just moving to DD

It makes perfect sense. At Lat64, Ricky is carrying the whole company on his shoulders. No other star players to help him in any way. He's expected to win and promote and make the brand relevant. At Innova, all he has to worry about is winning. Sexton is the face, the promoter, the commentator, etc. Having a stable of contenders around him on the team makes his life easier. Alot easier to focus on your game when you aren't expected to do everything else for the company as well.

EDIT: Yeah I know Lat has McCray, Owens, PB, etc. They're great. But you can't compare the Lat64 team to the Innova team when it comes to week in and week out contenders and social media presence.

You guys missed the joke. Tonya Hardin isn't a disc golfer, she was a figure skater who went to jail for having a competitor hit in the knee with a pipe.

She was never convicted of setting up the "hit" it was her ex-husband that went down for that. She was found guilty of obstruction or some **** for hindering the investigation, but never did jail time. I'll never forget that **** though, "whyyyyyyy".

Wrong. She was a famous boxer who appeared on celebrity TV boxing multiple times. I really don't understand why Streets cares if she throws Trilogy or not.

Drew Gibson posting this on his Instagram without quoting Tomi Lahren is bad enough, besides the message being... not well thought out to say the least.

Thanks, it's been so many years, I had forgotten all the details.
