2019 Pros Switching Sponsors Official Thread

I've met Drew in person a few times and I'm kinda neutral on him overall, but I've gotta clarify what went on there. One of his clothing sponsors came up with the idea of creating car-themed stamps for their players and making a small run of fundraiser discs with them. Drew's was based on the Corvette logo obviously. (Side note, he actually sold his Corvette this year to get cash for a down payment on a house.) Drew wasn't involved in the design at all, other than approving the result. After the backlash on Reddit, those discs ended up being given out in a player's pack for an event I played.

Drew took all the heat for that, but I'm looking right now at a Philo DX Cadillac Roc. In that same pack were a Josh Anthon Star Boss and an Izak McDonald Luster Firebird, both of which have modified car logos I've seen before but can't fully place. These were all Innova-sponsored players, not DD. BTW, I have a Philo DX Cadillac Roc, an Anthon Star Boss, and an IMAC Luster Firebird for sale, all unthrown.

Why would a guy take heat over a corvette logo on a disc????? Have these people ever driven a corvette? I'm on my 2nd one, and would hate to drive anything else.

I try not to drive my 2005 corvette to disc golf courses in bad neighborhoods for obvious reasons. But any flack I may take from haters, I just remind them that my corvette cost 1/3 of their new Subaru. Plus, the corvette is much easier and cheaper to maintenance (if you are a man and can do things like that). Insurance is the same as an SUV if you are pushing 40 years old.

Man Lat64 is getting kneecapped

Yeah losing Ricky basically leaves them without a top contender. McCray is competitive and is up there in some tournaments but not consistently at the top. They do still have some decent other guys since they have such a big team in Feldberg, Owens, Musick, Matt Bell, Patrick Brown, Zack Johnson, Emerson Keith, Nissinen, Proctor, Frescura, etc.

I'm sure they are already trying to do it, but it would probably be smart for them to try and pick up as much young talent that they can over in Europe where I'm sure they have a bigger presence.

These shakeups! This is too exciting - can we forget about winter and skip straight to the Gentleman's Club in Vegas?

Ricky to Innova? DC? Has anyone ever switched from one Trilogy brand to another?

For instance, on the topic of FPO pay, which came up on Melody Waibel's Facebook page, he continues to call women girls, all while seemingly unable to grasp why women are pushing for more equitable pay, yet saying he is a huge supporter of women's golf. I know the FPO pay debate is a whole 'nother can of worms, and maybe I'm being too hard on a guy in his early 20s for not being particularly woke, but that's my read on him. I can't really give any better evidence. I'm merely saying that's how he comes across to me, and I'm sure opinions on that will vary.

Correct me and excuse me if I'm off base, but how is the FPO pay issue a debate? Isn't their pay simply a function of how many competitors pay to play the tournament?? More women playing tourneys = more money, right?

I have to imagine it's Innova. Makes too much sense. I doubt Discraft would try and get both him and McBeth, and I feel like the announcement from Lat 64 would have been worded differently if he was moving to DD. That plus Ian making a comment however many pages ago that Ricky to Innova had legs, makes me think that is what will happen.

No way Ricky is going to Innova now that Nate is also promoted to team captain. DD needs a solid younger MPO player, perhaps that's the move. It would make sense, Ricky could still use his current bag. hmmm.....

Wow, I know you don't like Trilogy, but why do you care so much what she throws?

Innova made the TeeRex just waiting for this opportunity...

Ok, so:

Paul McBeth: Innova -> Unknown (probably Discraft, though)
Ricky Wysocki: Latitude 64 -> Unknown (Innova speculated)
Paul Ulibarri: Prodigy -> Unknown (Discraft speculated)
Chris Dickerson: Prodigy -> Re-signed with Prodigy
Nate Sexton: Innova -> Re-signed with Innova
Kevin Jones: Prodiscus -> Unknown (Literally every company speculated)

Who am I missing?
