Innova again trying to figure out the Zone thing it appears.

https://www.pdga.com/technical-standards/equipment-certification/discs/rhyno-x

Between this and the new Warhog coming out, it's clear they are grasping for new ideas.

Max Weight: 176.0gr
Diameter: 21.2cm
Height: 2.0cm
Rim Depth: 1.3cm
Rim Thickness: 1.0cm
Inside Rim Diameter: 19.1cm
Rim Depth / Diameter Ratio: 6.1%
Rim Configuration: 63.50
Flexibility: 8.52kg

Anything at all close to a Rhyno -- thumb track, big bead -- is really missing the point of the Zone.

Innova already has plenty of slow and OS discs with clunky hand feel: Pig, Gator, Hawg, plus the Rhyno itself.

The Zone gets that overstablity but with super clean hand feel. Innova was on the right track with Aviar3 then AX3 then Rat...they just needed another few iterations in the more OS direction.

So what is the purpose of a more OS Rhyno?

I never had a flat champ Rhyno, but I never found my Rhynos to be that overstable. They were certainly very high speed stable, but they'd usually just run out of gas and fall out of the air instead of fading unless I threw them high.

But without Paul McBeth just harping on Innova's Dave D to keep making a Zone like disc, the company might stop tweaking current designs to have a Zone like disc. Besides Innova has the Cayman and Croc as no bead OS discs that can do the Zone slot that a lot of Pro players use for the same slot. Also the Rat is a Zone like disc in feel with more the flight of a Harp, as the Harp is a slightly domed Zone so you see players going that route too. I think if you were to do the Thumbtrack on a Rat you would be very close to the Zone in terms of flight. Thumbtrack does help make a disc more OS right?

Also with the disc being flat top should it not be a RhynoX3?

My rhynos could use a little bit more os. The current ones are unbeatable inside 130ish feet for me but having an option to get a bit more os outside of that would be nice. I didn't like the pig nor the zone. The harp is coming around for me but doesn't have near the touch the rhyno does.

If it's available in R-Pro (my favorite flavor of Rhyno) I'll try a few.

I have two Pro Rhynos that fight for the ground as soon as they leave my hand though, so I don't think I really need a more overstable version.

Hm, Rhyno top, AviarX3 bottom I bet. Or one of the bottoms they used on those Infinite Tombs or the like, maybe a Rat bottom?
