Short story: looking for a high speed distance driver that is a little understable for big turnovers that will barely pan out.

Long story: I can throw 375' with Raider, Corvette, D2, Pharaoh discs. I have an I blend Pharaoh that is flippy. Just a bit too flippy. I have two other Pharaohs that are just barely stable. The 16xg Corvettes are my main distance driver, and the Gstar has slight turn and slight fade with my arm. I picked up a Pro Corvette hoping to beat it into something slightly more stable than that 168g I-blend Pharaoh. I suppose it will get there eventually, but I'm looking for a 12/13 speed disc that genuinely flies -2 turn, 1 fade (not just published numbers).

Other Discs I have tried: Sidewinder, Escape, Captain, Orc, Getaway, Relativity, Trespass

Have you tried a Shryke? Mine in Star plastic pretty much flies exactly -2, 1. Not really beat in at all. Mamba is slower than that but definitely goes right without much fade at all (maybe a little too far right for what you're looking for).

For me, the Corvette in star basically flies -1,2, and the Shryke is the mirror of that at -2,1 (mine is 170g).

I also recommend the MVP Wave for that flight shape at that distance, although I prefer it in Plasma plastic for the added dome.

I like it in Plasma also. If it hadn't been the idea of a 12/13 speed, that has a very similar flight to my Shryke.

I basically went Valkyrie, Wave, Shryke as my arm speed improved for that same kind of line.

I also throw (threw?....its since somehow disappeared from my bag) a plasma wave as well. I found it to be a touch flippier than my CN one. I have more of a panning full turn with no fade with my plasma. To get the -2/1 flight, my CN does that a bit more reliably.
Honestly, can't go wrong with either one imo.

I was thinking that a sidewinder would fall in perfectly there but the valk should be good as well. But that speed 12/13 thing is throwing me for a loop. At 375' with a speed 12/13, I would think that that flight you are looking for would be hard to find. Maybe a Katana or a Tern might work but I honestly think you need a slower disc for that flight path.

It's inherently more difficult for a wide rim to have little fade, math and stuff. Either you get extra turn with little fade, or less turn with more fade.

I don't truly have a suggestion, figured you should at least be aware of that fact. Good luck on your search!

Yeah you'd be better off finding a fairway driver that will be easier to turn and have less fade. But otherwise, I find a Opto Ballista to be fairly flippy. I can get a lot of turn out of it with not too much fade. Definitely way less stable than the flight numbers indicate.

Tern for me, available in so many weights and plastics I have a range of similar shots I can pull off (occasionally) with the same mold.

I haven't thrown a Shryke but 'everyone' says a Pharaoh is the same disc, so probably not a Shryke.

I forgot I do have a 161g Star Valkyrie that I've thrown in the field. It didn't do anything special, so it's for trade/sale in the marketplace.

I've never thrown a Wave, so I'll be on the lookout. I'm sure they're in stock somewhere, but I already have credit at the Dunamic Discs store. The MVP/Axiom/Streamline display is completely empty. Never saw that in the year I've been playing. Not one disc. It was fully stocked 2 months ago.

Plasma? For understable? I have a plasma Trace that took loads of beating to start developing turn. Just double-checking.

This is why I asked for real world suggestions. The I-blend Pharaoh will do this shot excellently... but takes a 45 degree hyzer. If I'm off at all I get cut throwllers... but when it hits it's wow.

Have you heard that a Shryke and Pharaoh are the same disc? I have three Pharaohs, two S and one I blend. The S-blend are -1, 2 for sure. The I-blend is a -2.5 turn with my arm. I didn't want to buy a dozen discs to find 'the one'. It seems like that would happen with a Shryke. I'm happy to be wrong because they're easy to find.

i havent heard sorry

The first thing that comes to mind is a Discmania Essence. It's an 8 speed, the numbers are 8/6/-2/1. But it's one of the first discs that made me realize numbers are meaningless. It's slightly flippy with mild fade, but it glides for ev er. As in max distance disc type glide.

Shot shape sounds like Essence, I like Neo plastic.

Your experience with Pharaoh in particular made me respond, I loved that disc, major xoxo...but moved on for backhand flex shots.

I agree. A star Shryke is probably exactly what you need. As long as you don't go super light weight, they tend to fly in that -2, 2 realm.

I think Fuzion Sheriffs seem to fly similar. Easy turn, but not super flippy.

FWIW, I think the Shryke is a MUCH better distance driver than the Pharaoh. It turns a little easier, glides way better, and the fade is much more gradual. I haven't had a ton of luck with the Pharaoh.

I definitely agree that a slower disc is what you need. Faster discs, even 'understable' ones, will have a lot more fade compared to a slower disc (larger rim width will cause more fade a lower speeds) There's also something to be said for not having to throw as hard as a speed 12/13 would require to get a disc turning and holding that turn.

That being said, a tern should be on the short list of discs you should be trying if you have to have a fast disc. I'd personally recommend trying out a mongoose, TD, or avenger SS, or sticking with the sidewinder for a while and learning the tendency of the disc.

The closest to what I want is a DD Escape, similar to the Essence. I keep landing about 40' short and miss the putt. That's the line though.
