Grip it to Rip it: The Ins and Outs of Grip - DGR article with pics, demonstrates basic fundamentals like grips and disc orientation in regards to the body, etc.

"secret" revealed at DGR! - Blake_T's exercise and drills that facilitate learning the fundamentals of throwing.

Discing down adventures - Promoted by the likes of Garublador, myself, and others, this thread drives home the point that shunning discs that are too fast for you and learning the slow ones will improve your line shaping, decision making, control, distance, etc.

An Open Letter to Three Putt, Garublador - Concerns the physics of disc flight, fairly heady stuff.

Explanation of the Physics of Flying discs - Self-explanatory.

Maxing out at 300'? - DGR thread concerning breaking that 300' distance plateau, some good stuff by Blake on page 4.

Perfect Putt 360 - putting game

I thought it would be nice if there was something we could direct noobs to for basic stuff on improving their game and things like that. What do you think? I tried to put just stuff that there is a general consensus about, so I left out threads like "are overstable midranges pointless." Feel free to add some beneficial links to it, let's get this ball rolling.

Anyone know of a good glossary of terms and acronyms? The following sentence will make no sense to a newcomer: I was gonna throw this sweet anny line, but I griplocked and OATed the crap out of it! Hyzer stalled right into the bush! I'm such a torque monkey

As far as that Perfect Putt 360 thread goes, the Flying Disc Magazine links are all FUBAR. If somebody has a more relevant (and succinct) thread/post and a copy of the scorecard, that would be helpful.

I think it'd be sticky material if all the chime ins and suggestions got rounded up into one long post to stick.

but seriously, maybe a "noob friendly disc list"

ie. - TeeBird, Leopard, Aviar, Roc...etc

That's so subjective I don't think we could ever arrive at a consensus.

That's part of the reason I made this thread, it's a concerted project to make a noob friendly primer that's derived by consensus.

Now that's what I'm talkin' about... tell us dumbassed noobs which discs to steer clear of... I get sick of wasting my money on discs I see other people LAUNCHING and then I get frustrated because I can't do it. :-/ Hell... you'd think I was one with the universe with a Teebird or an Orc... but I can't throw a Katana or a Boss or a Beast... I have no clue why. I just had to find out by wasting time/money on discs I can't throw. Maybe that place in Austin needs to branch out...
