    Elbow issues

I have seen several threads recently discussing elbow issues and wanted to share some info with people. This tries to provide some of the basic understanding of the physiology and possible treatment approaches. This discussion can certainly evolve and discuss more form related aspects since I...

    Sidearm Shoulder Soreness

studies show that even full thickness non-traumatic rotator cuff tears still tend to do at least as well, if not better, with conservative management. The typical management is PT first and surgery only after failed conservative management.

    Sidearm Shoulder Soreness

My guess is that form is related on top of issues that have predisposed you to a shoulder issue. There is no way it is a deltoid issue. There are a lot of other structures in an around the shoulder that would take excessive strain before the deltoid. I actually don't think I've ever seen a...

Silly Newbie Q - lost disc protocal

Yeah, all the threads can be summarized as a few points of view: 1. take the time/courtesy to call or text the number on disc, it is someone's property 2. leave the disc where it was or put it in an obvious location or dropbox 3. finders keepers there are variations on that, but sums up most...

    I broke my non-throwing shoulder

At least it is your non-throwing arm. It is not a fun process, but you should be able to get back to disc golf without any significant issues, it will just take a while. It shouldn't take a full year to get back. Certainly your surgeon and PT will give you more specific guidelines on return.

    Ran into a touring pro

This year ran into Brian Earhart during a practice round. Got a surprised reaction from him watching my drive air bounce 5 times followed by "that's crushed".

    Eagle McMahon's Shoulder impingement

A lot of these comments are way too vague and assuming too much. Having the elbow by the side does not inherently put more strain on the elbow or shoulder. Not having enough shoulder ER ROM, having rounded shoulders (as mentioned previously)/poor posture, insufficient thoracic mobility...

DeBunking Myths - Keeping the Head Down or Still or Back

look at frame 6, 7, 8, and 9. His head is mostly square with this shoulders. He could rotate his head a lot more to the right. We both agree that the head is an indicator of what is happening elsewhere. It is meant that they shouldn't come up and out of the shot prematurely. If there head is...

DeBunking Myths - Keeping the Head Down or Still or Back

I think some of this comes from a misunderstanding of what people mean when they say to keep the head down. What is usually meant is to not allow the head to come up and around prematurely, not to initiate movement from the top down. Having the head come up and around from the beginning will...
