I never come around here anymore, only came to see what people were saying about the McBeth switch. I figured I'd poke around a little and was pleasantly surprised to see you're still at it! We're also (still?) throwing about the same things around the same distances. I suspect most average...
If it helps, I have a B15 and carry 16 in the main compartment...3 Ridges, 3 Roc3s, 3 Teebirds, 2 Roadrunners, 3 Escapes, 2 Firebirds. That all fits snugly, but easy to pull a disc out. Even one more driver would probably make things a little tight and a pain to pull a disc out.
We've always had pretty similar bags. I think something like a Valk would do great for you. I throw Escapes, which are basically the same thing. I would even suggest that it'd could take over the Sidewinders as your main distance driver, because you'll have confidence it'll fade out.
I couldn't care less about winning or losing. You should consider whether you'd say the same thing to a persons face as you would on the internet.
I've reported my own thread, hoping it will get deleted. I've failed to properly communicate what I was asking for, and for every useful post...
I think I could have done a better job of explaining the point of the league. It's primarily as a form-tuning tool, with some cheap, friendly competition thrown in. That's it. That's why I don't like the OS stuff, because I don't feel that helps teach form.
Turning a Harp over directly...
What you guys said above, this is exactly what I've done. I've posted a list of allowed discs and ask them to tell me what they're throwing when they check in.
I don't really have to fix anything. The league is already working. It just needs to be tweaked.
Here's what happened. Someone showed up with a Harp the first week and pulled off some amazing trick shots with it. Week 2, half the field has a Harp or something similar. It immediately turned...
That wasn't feedback that I asked for. I didn't ask for whether or not people liked the structure of the league. I asked for feedback on how to define a utility putter.
Why would you be upset? If it's not something you'd like to participate in because Zone aren't allowed, then you don't have to.
This isn't a club event, guys. This is just a guy who knows that learning how to shape lines with a putter is useful and can be a lot of fun.
Exactly. And, well...if someone has a super beat Zone and that's their normal putter and they're not interested in throwing something else?...okay...they don't have to play.
It's a $3 weekly buy-in with optional $1 CTP and optional $1 ace pool buy-ins. We've been in the mid-high teens in turnout thus far.
I'm not trying to be rude, but you appear to be the type of person I'd rather not attend in the first place.
That's basically what I've done thus far. You bring 2 discs, can be different molds. Unfortunately, the direction many people have already gone is towards one being utility disc, the other a more standard putter. The argument can, and has, been made that everyone can go the same route. The...
I want to eliminate utility discs because that's the vision I have for the league. I want to learn to throw putters better, on more lines with greater confidence. The sort of people I'd like to come out are the people who would like to do the same.
I'm not interested in restricting the list...
I've started up a putter league and want to steer the disc choices away from utility discs like the Zone. I want it to be about shaping lines with a putter, not pulling off trick shots with skips, overhands, rollers, etc. Something like a Wizard or Aviar is what I have in mind for people to...
