    North Carolina Courses

Appreciate the multitude of responses, evidence that it is not an easy choice in this area. I'll already be driving around all day but sticking to a course right in Charlotte's probably the best for my schedule. I have played rounds while traveling where I finish work, have about 2 hours...

    North Carolina Courses

Alright, thanks to both for the response. Lets say I'm in the 875-900 range, and haven't played much this year, so maybe long wooded tunnel holes won't be as enjoyable with my 3-5 disc travel bag. Scenery, elevation, fun factor are higher up on my list than challenge for this trip. Thoughts?

    North Carolina Courses

Bugging off this thread: I'll be traveling for work to the Charlotte area next week and will def. bag one (hoping for 2) courses. Suggestions for picking from the following? Hornets Nest (gotta be prime right now a few weeks after DGPT, right?) Ashe County Park Rolling Pines Canaan Riverbend...

    Music During a round

I enjoy music not just for the vibe, as in I'm out here walking outdoors to enjoy myself, and music helps with that, but also because people can't shut up when someone's getting ready to throw. When it's silent except for the occasional voice, my mind picks up on that, wants to hear it...

Do Pros Practice What They Preach?

In Ricky's latest Innova vid, he mentions how being a short stop and throwing over to 1st base transitioned very easily into a strong forehand. Same here, first 5 years of playing I was FH dominant from other sports' backgrounds, and I just imagined doing a sidearm pitch/throw. That said, it was...

    Can anyone throw 500'?

After watching it, that slide is basically the table of contents for the presentation. Maybe not coincidental at all, almost like sw22 posted it for a reason...

    Can anyone throw 500'?

One of the slides from that presentation touched on basically all the heated discussion around here recently. I thought it was a funny coincidence. Factor's affecting velocity ceiling: Playing History Lever length/height Mechanical efficiency Training Seems like all four of those have been...

Why are tournaments Thurs to Sat?

Thanks for the info. Would a tournament ever PLAN to do that though? Todd you mention not expecting players to leave the day open, but lets assume the professional side takes off on a path towards other pro sports, that doesn't seem crazy to expect, especially for a high profile event. Super...

Why are tournaments Thurs to Sat?

I figured some of it was due to weather ending tournaments early over the past couple of years. Having an open Sunday gives you a fall back day if it needs to push for whatever reason. Also does help for the non-full time touring pros to travel back to reality before the work week starts again.

Central Coast Disc Golf - CCDG vids

Oh man, I was at that Champs vs. Chumps. I felt so bad for the blonde lady. Awkward AF, Nate didn't even know what to say. The second hole she's on the tee, and the whole gallery along the fairway begins backing up, and then how right they were. I really do feel sorry for her, but man, my sides...

BIRDIE! The Disc Golf Board Game

Nerd time. My buddy ran a DnD 1-shot(-ish, that turned into 3/4 nights) over the course of a year or so (because we have kids and getting together is hard) for me and our wives. The premise was we were all top golfers playing at Worlds at our local course, all on a different card against a top...

Don't Nice Me Bro, My first disc golf webcomic

His was a little closer, the OG meme was guys in an office building marketing meeting and the dude gets tossed out the window, the sentences can be whatever you want where he suggests something reasonable. You're right the "format" of the meme is the same, but that's how they work. There is a...

The inevitable 2020 Pros switching sponsor/DD hate thread

Seemed relevant with the discussion about social media in this thread: Marketing Firm's research: https://izea.com/2019/11/07/izea-releases-13-years-influencer-marketing-pricing-data/ Highlights: The report looked at sponsored content on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and blogs, examining...

    Lyme disease

Good point. Apply moderate even pressure when pulling them out, like when you pinch some arm hair and tug it up, pull hard enough to have your skin lift a little bit but before it really hurts. I would grab a small plastic "tick spoon", it's a small (usually white) spoon with a slotted V at the...

    Lyme disease

It's a shame to have to worry about them as much as we do these days. I never did as a kid, but they've traveled north for years and years, and they've moved up through the north and even into Canada, surviving winters. I read an article about a guy doing research on them, he counted 140,000...
