We're working on his form and distance but I have no clue what a reasonable distance is for an 8 year old. I know it's subjective but I don't see many other kids his age throw.

One of the first drivers we bought when we started. It was also the first distance disc I could get to go right. It's a solid choice in the right plastic and weight. I haven't bagged one for years. I have ddx that took that understable distance driver spot now.

Discraft Challenger or MVP atom (putter) KC pro Roc or/and Mcpro roc 3 (mids) Leopard 3, Dynamic Disc Escape and or Lat64 Diamond (fairway) DDX, Tern, Dx or Pro Destroyer (distance)

Lat64 Diamond in goldline plastic. I bag 2 great disc. Easy 300+ feet on a hyzer flip and very versatile once you learn to modulate your power.

Light weight champ Tern or light weight S-line DDX. Both are great drivers and come in light weights. I think you can get the DDX even lighter in c-line plastic. other suggestion would be a DX destroyer in light weights. They fly crazy good, but can get beat in quick.
