Ams only A-Tier! - First Flight - March 29th & 30th

Just a reminder - Register by Feb. 14th to get the long sleeve dry fit t-shirt as part of your players pack. If you register after that, you'll still get a sweet players pack, but you won't get the t-shirt.

This isn't the first time that Smokey's has supported one of my tournaments. Don't forget to support the businesses that support disc golf!

I caught lunch there during one of those other tournaments they helped sponsor.

Tasty stuff! Good on them for continuing to support disc golf.

The players pack is set, and both discs have been determined:

Innova Star Destroyer with custom hotstamp
Latitude Gold Saint Pro with custom full color Deco-Dye
Long Sleeve Dri-Fit T-Shirt with custom tournament print (If you pre-registered by Feb 14th)
Local Disc Golf Calendar
Mini with custom tournament stamp
Tournament Poster
Players Guide

I'm also working on the first place trophies for each division. They are going to be sweet! I'll post some pics when I'm done. Every division with three or more players by March 21st will have a first place trophy.

I can't help but look at the Feb 28 forecast of -12, and wonder what the weather is going to be like on March 28.

I'm sure it'll be spring by then! Well.... mostly sure....

Holiday Inn's rate for First Flight players is $89 per night. Just mention First Flight when you reserve a room.

The TowneSuites by Mariott, and the Hollywood Hotel (by the Casino) are also sponsors of the tournament. I believe they are both offering similar deals. I encourage you to check each of them out.

Please remember that you MUST be a current PDGA member by tournament time, or you will not be allowed to play. If the PDGA doesn't show you as current, please bring proof of your membership renewal. If you are renewing any later than today, I would recommend keeping the email, or whatever proof you have so there will be no questions.

We have 25 spots remaining between the Rec, Nov, Woman's, and Jr. Divisions.

We have 38 spots remaining between the Adv, and Int divisions.

Update:

12 spots remaining between the Rec, Nov, and Women's divisions

30 spots remaining between the Adv, and Int divisions

Update:

10 spots left in the "lower" divisions (Rec, Nov, and Women's)
23 spots left in the "upper" divisions (Adv and Int divisions)

Registration will close on Wednesday, March 26th at 4pm. Of course, if we fill before then, it will close at that time.

Another reminder: You must be a current PDGA member by tournament time or you will not be allowed to play! No exceptions. If you don't show as current on the PDGA site, please bring proof that you've signed up.

I don't think I've mentioned yet that the DG Guy, Terry Miller will be at the tournament videotaping for his blog. Very excited to have him there and to meet him in person!

LSDiscs will be running a doubles tournament at Channahon on Friday, March 28th....more details when I get them.

Also, we have two more new hole sponsors!

Paul Kenney - Gives great DG lessons, and runs the Sunrise League in Bartlett.
The Penalty Box - 16108 S. Rt. 59, Plainfield, IL 60586

Ok, I've been debating between this even and the DD AM Championships in Texas that weekend...finally made a decision and registered, looks like I will be heading northeast! Hopefully the courses will be kind to a refugee from Kansas and the weather won't suck!

I found the Round Barn course on here, any info on the Channahon Community Park course? I couldn't find it listed under that name here...

First Flight update:

9 spots left in the lower divisions (Rec., Nov., Women's Rec., & Women's Nov.)

18 spots left in the upper divisions (Int., and all Adv. divisions.)

One and a half weeks left to register (if we don't fill that is.) More info and registration available here: http://www.acesandchains.com/node/21

LSDiscs will be running a doubles tournament at Channahon between 10am-2pm on Friday, March 28th. Great way to prep for the First Flight tournament that weekend. All payouts will be in Merch.

Only $20 a team to play! Advanced and Intermediate divisions available.

LSDiscs will also be at the flymart Friday night, and vending at the tournament at Channahon all weekend. I encourage you to support them!

I can't help but look at the Feb 28 forecast of -12, and wonder what the weather is going to be like on March 28.

I'm sure it'll be spring by then! Well.... mostly sure....

Despite snowing a bit _again_ this morning (wintry mix... that or legit snow every day of spring so far!), our snow is _almost_ all melted here in Valparaiso, IN. About an hour east of the tournament site.

The ground here is pretty wet, with some mud.

Forecast for tomorrow looks like some more snow in the morning ;) But a high of 40.

Sunday looks positively nice! Sunny, high of 55.

How do course conditions look for the tournament?

Best of luck!

I was out that way last weekend and there is no snow anywhere. Definitely muddy at Channy though. They just spread some mulch in the more muddy areas. Round Barn is actually in great shape. No snow and not too much mud.
