I am making a basket how many chains would you recommend and how long does each one have to be.

Mine had 12 outside links of 24 and 6 inside links of 22.

I think 12 would do, but I like my 18 links.

I have 24 chains on mine. thicker chain on the outside 12 and thinner yellow chain on the inside. It seems like a lot of chain but it works beautifully.

Why did you put thicker chain on the outside than on the inside? Does that make it catch better or worse?

I made my basket I went with 16 outer and 6 inner it works good.

it is stored in my garage and we just replaced the toilet so that was in the garage till garbage day
