Disc washing...

big difference between what i do to a found water disc and how i clean the discs in my bag. I'm just getting dirt and dust off, not barnacles.

Well said my friend...I come from Florida where I assume dirty disc means barnacle disc...my apologies sir!

I only use this on my scorecard! HA!

Industrial glass bead blaster.

Or warm soapy water and a soft rag. If regular dish soap won't do, try Simple Green, Murphy's or Meyer's.

I prefer the bleach and water technique the most also, I'm from NY but my closest course has a pretty nasty pond and the bleach does the trick. I used goo gone once and it damaged my disc. It could have been because it was r-pro plastic, I never dared to try it again on more expensive plastic.

I use baby wipes after every round to clean off my discs, especially after a nice, muddy round.

take them to a casino, cash them all in for chips, then immediately cash out

start up a business that is legit and launder it through there, I recomment a car wash, or something else without a end product

generally speaking, just hot water and a washcloth/towel/whatever. its going to get dirty again, that will get more than enough dirt off for it to feel clean to your hand...even if it isnt all antibacterialed-out and in showroom condition.

for a gift or something presentable, just about everything else listed isnt really a bad answer. you WILL need more than just hot water, i was just making sure everyone doesnt waste money cleaning something they dont eat off of between rounds.

Thanks for all the advice!! Soap, Oxi-Clean and hot water soak did a pretty good job. She still believes in Santa, and purple disc was on her list, so I had to try to new it up as much as possible!

Now if only I had thought to ask "How does one wrap a golf disc?" also...

Cheers and Happy Holidays!!

Bringing this one back to life for a quick question.

My home course has tons of dog poo all over, and I want to make sure my discs are sanitized. (I know it's a bit OCD) Bleach has been mentioned in this thread, but have any of you seen any problems with the plastic after repeated diluted bleach washes? I only add like 1/2 teaspoon to a sinkful of water and dishsoap just to kill any poo germs.

id say no... but there is a ton of chlorine in most drinking water so. Antibacterial hand soap in the sink with water should do fine with no chance of ruining the discs. And it may be a but OCD but its dog poop!! so wash on my friend wash on!!!

Bathing with your discs is the quickest and most sensual way to get to know your discs better. Just remember to wear protection or your going to end up with a bunch of mini's.

is that why people recommend having vibram in the bag? cuz its rubber!

10% bleach is better than 100% bleach, works better but needs to be made daily!
