I am trying to convince the designer of a new local course where extra collars were installed to install tone poles in lieu of the shorty 3 foot tall poles he is considering at the unused collar locations (he was thinking that the shorty 3 foot poles would be a visual point of reference for the city park workers can see the unused collar locations and not damage them with the mower blades).
With a minimal outlay of cash he can make this course enjoyable for all skill levels. He can also weld a tab on the pole (at ground level) so these tone poles can be locked down.

Why were there no responses on the tone pole regarding loudness? I am in the process of building 5 for a course around my parents' house.
