I don't always lose discs, but when I do they go in a duck pond that has a fence around it with a locked gate. There's my Leopard in 2 feet of water plain as day and I can't retrieve it.

...get out the 24 foot extendable golf ball retrieve I converted into a disc grabber and get em' back
