The midrange thread went well so...

Its seems pretty standard two have a pair of FW Drivers with similar speed and complimenting stability (one stable/slightly OS/workable and one that turns/understable).

One of the more common pairing I have noticed is TB and Leopard. What other 2 disc FW pairings do you see working together nicely (with similar speed and possibly feeling in hand)?

Remember, this isn't just a 'what do you throw' thread - I'm curious about pairings.

Also, a Teerex isn't a FW driver :|

The ones in my bag right now are Trident(OS), Gazelles, Rivers. I carry two of the Gazelles and Rivers for different stability.

I like that the Rivers gets great D and is nice and straight to understable, the Gazelles are very straight with a nice fade that I can really muscle into, and the Trident is the nice OS compliment to the group.

Eagle-X/Eagle-L is a popular one.

I throw Predator/Tracker. But I swap in Leos and TLs for the Tracker sometimes.

I use a Star TL/Pro TL combo . The pros have a flight path a lot like a meteor, but longer.

Eagle X and L with Leopards. Kind of a trio I guess if you want to get technical about it.

I find the vision to be a solid fairway with huge hyzers, flex shots, rollers and long anhyzers all possible. It is one of the easiest discs I have ever thrown (similar to cheetah/leo but more comfortable and better glide. I paired it with a trident/XXX but found neither one of those discs all that useful. Really not a fan of fairway drivers though and would rather use a midrange.

Do you have any issues with them being so different speedwise?

The speed difference doesn't seem to be that much really. My rivers only go about 50' longer than the gazelles. I like this pairing...

I want Lat64 to put out something that is slower than the Striker with the same stability...

I like Vison/River/Gazelle or TeeBird if I had a trio

I have a few "pairings"

150 class Flick and CE FL. These cover my crazy overstable, thumber and escape shots. The FL does most of the work, but when it's really blowing outside the Flick is money for me.

CE Eagle and CE Teebird. Sometimes I just need that little extra fade that the Eagle has over the Teebird or when I don't want any turning over.

Finally....CE TL and CE/Pro Line Leopard. I know, pretty much the same discs. With my TL I get a dead straight shot with little to no fade, plus a little extra "D". With my Leopard I have a more predictable helix and anhyzer disc.
I know I'm an overdiscer, but it works for ME ;)

Beat eagle L
New eagle X
Covers all the lines I need forehand or backhand

My two main fairway drivers are a Champ Firebird and a Star Teebird which is so beat it flys like a TL.

I don't really think in terms of "fairway drivers" and "distance drivers" so much as I focus on what's going to be the easiest line to take. I guess my fairway drivers are the River and Striker. I can get pretty much any line between 100-300 feet out of the two of them.

Flx XL & Esp Pred. The XL is completely controllable, and the Pred. works the corners like no other disc (it'll also fly dead straight in the wind if you have enough arm).
