[Prodigy] pdga aproves prodigy mids?

Prodigy Names

The reason prodigy has these names, first off you have to look at the bigger picture they are trying to take disc golf to new heights, think about 5-10 years from now when disc golf is on TV, they are making discs like golf clubs, they have ONE stamp for everything making it simple, they are saying these are the tools you need to play this game no fancy names or designs, just like golf clubs, very easy to understand and nothing fancy, for disc golf to be taken seriously and to the next level they are the only ones who seem to understand this concept even more so then disc mania did. Everyone here wants to see disc golf GROW and become a sponsored sport shown on tv although I do love my teebirds, vikings etc. I think what they are doing will eventually have a large impact on the disc golf world.

What happens when I buy an M4 and it weighs like 200 grams and they say oh just contact us and we'll make it right but they don't ever reply to your emails or messages about said replacement? What do I do then? Wipe the stamp and sharpie on a big condor?

Wow, really? I thought they were making right with that proto run???

have you ever looked at the names of all the golf balls and clubs out there? They range from alpha/numeric to cliché innova stamps... It does not matter at all IMO. Prodigy's naming of the discs seems a bit confusing.

Got a red 179 M1, and a blue 178 M3.

M1 is pretty OS, maybe a little moresothan a hornet. M3 somewhat resembles a vector wing if i recall what a vector looks like, it is pretty hss, like a beefy buzz. No turn, very straight and a hard fade.

Limited throws with the M1, buddy threw it in the water, but it is roc/pain ish in profile but much more os than either from what i could tell in a handfule of throws. Will report more later

Having played a round with the M4 and hearing you describe M3 as beefy buzzz / Vector I think they might need to add a M5 later.. unless this M4 beats in really hard, but I am not expecting that with the size of the nose on it.

I got a M1 and M3 today at a tourney. The M1 is a very overstable mid for me, like Drone overstable. This disc will finish hard left RHBH. The M3 is like a nice stable KC Roc or like a hole 7/Kenny glow. Both made the bag for now. The plastic is so grippy and both filled slots as the Ghosts I use are less stable than these 2.

For those who think the names are confusing... How?

1 is most over stable, 4 is least over stable. The letters stand for distance slots, D distance, M midrange, PA putt and approach. How is this 'confusing'?

hmm, so the m1 is almost drone like and the m3 is like a stable buzzz. ive heard the m1 was like a 01 ce roc but if its drone like, thats not even the same. the m3 i heard was also comparable to a 2fr buzzz.

I've never thrown a CE Roc but mine is like no Roc I've thrown. I have thrown Gators and Drones and this thing fits right in there with them. Not a very glidey disc either much like the other 2. Mine is a 174g to boot. So I'd imagine a max weight would be super beef.

I agree that it shouldn't be confusing. I personally don't really like the names though.
I think given their team....they should have went with mythical gods names. Given how they think they are the greatest. And what's greater than a God?

How far do you throw a Roc/Ghost? Just curious

I would say 250-275'. I can throw them farther with more elevation though. I use mids off the tee more than for approach. Most of the wooded holes at my home course are those distances and I don't have trouble reaching them unless I hit a tree (which I do quite often:D)

I havent thrown my m4's yet, just put them up on Ebay. Anyone else throw one.

Its not confusing to a person who understands the sport, plays a lot and follows this company but it is
much easier to tell someone to go out and get a X named disc vs trying to explain the 4 different letters and stabilities with easy room for error.. Im pretty sure if I tell someone to get a drone, roc, vector, etc vs a skeeter, axis, meteor and so on-- it is pretty clear which discs I am talking about where to a new player they have a hard enough time keeping understable and overstable straight... its not as "easy" as it appears-- there is a reason why innova sells the most dics to new players and I would assume a LOT has to do with their names, stamps and product identification... You know an innova disc by a part of the stamp, name, etc not their flight ratings listed on some champ/star discs'

Are you kidding me ever club in golf has a crazy name just like disc golf. There all pretty standard but the actual clubs have names if you didn't know.

Took out the M1 this afternoon. ( 179g yellow ) - Not as stable as I expected being at the far end of prodigy offerings. definitely less stable than gator or drone. I was able to FH it similar to a zone, but it rolled over a bit more during the middle 1/3 of the flight line. For BH throws it didn't roll over at all, (obviously) but I was surprised how long it held straight before tailing off in the final 1/3, and the fade at the end was also less than expected. Having thrown the M4 quite a bit, I am not surprised by the lack of LSS. the M4 just runs it's course and then settles into the ground. ( maybe drops 2' left ). We are planning to take the M1, M3, & M4 to a measured field and test with flight lines and comparable discs on Tues. watch for a full report coming, probably with vids included.
