PDGA Division Changes for 2023 Announced

I dunno biscoe... I personally feel like I was cheated a little when the division names were changed. Having a Grandmaster trophy was pretty cool. Got a pair of Advanced Grandmaster trophies that impress. I was kinda looking forward to having a Legend trophy, but I guess that won't be happening.

Any idea on why the basket for hole 15 was pulled?

Old Farts Only 40+ (no kids allowed)

i have noticed this too. About a decade ago, I started up a monthly tournament in our town because there was no local disc golf scene. When I was in charge of the monthly, we played with no out of bounds. All water was casual. If you threw your disc into a ball field, in the street or into...

    Why Directional Aid Illegal?

Well yeah.... I'm complaining. In just a couple more years I could potentially win a trophy as a Legend. You think MA70 is anywhere near as cool?

[Putters] Not having a specific putting putter

None of the discs I carry have one specific purpose. I only carry three discs, so all of them serve multiple purposes. If i want to throw a putter off the tee or for an upshot, it's the same Aviar I'm using to putt with. Often as not, I'll end up putting out with my Roc because my putter is...

    Grow the sport you say?

Climate change might help us some here. Two courses in my town were built on land that used to be residential neighborhoods. Then we had a major hurricane come through and FEMA bought up the land. The land turned into parks and now there are disc golf courses there.

    Farmington Park discussion

Major changes being made to hole #6. This is the hole with a mando you have to pass to the left and the hole is on the right over the creek. Today I found that the mando tree has been cut down along with the rest of the trees in that right side bunch. Right now there is a clear line straight...

    Catch Discs

Well 1978 said he wasn't interested in golf discs, but I find light JK Aviars - around 162-164 grams - are great for playing catch.

Lids vs Bricks vs Putters for approach

I'm gonna vote Other. For me, an approach shot is like 75 to 200 feet out and I'm usually throwing a Roc at that.

[Question] Most valuable/expensive disc you bag and throw

I only carry a few discs, but one of them is pretty valuable: a Ken Climo 4X Glow USDGC Roc from 2005. Thrown a lot of Rocs over the years and this is the most stable Roc I've ever seen.

How do you organize your discs in bag?

Using a bag is just too much trouble, so I carry three discs in my hand. This makes organization pretty simple. I'll start a round with the driver on top, the mid in the middle and the putter on the bottom. This order gets shuffled a bit in the course of a round because I just put the last...

Post a Picture of the First Basket Hole You Ever Played

Horizons Park. Winston-Salem, NC https://www.dgcoursereview.com/media.php?id=355&mode=media# Yeah... the hole is completely wide open. 153 feet. But in the mid 80's I was thrilled to see a basket course after years of playing object golf. Played with a Masters Frisbee for a year or two...

What rules would you add (not really, but you might wish for)

Somehow MA50 just doesn't have the ring of Grandmasters for me. OK, Senior Grandmasters isn't so great, but I was kind of looking forward to playing the Legends division in a couple more years....

Distance Driver you use most ON the course?

This is an easy question for me because I only carry one driver: Star Sidewinder
