i'm a discraft guy. i drive much better with discraft, and that's usually what matters for me. i find innova drops left to much at the end of my throw. however, with my mid range and approach shots, i could go either way. as long as you know how the disc plays for you, you should be fine. find...
i'm not sure if it's just me, or if there are discs that work better as a backhand disc (right hand). i use a discraft xs 175 and can usually throw it about 300ish ft with accuracy. (forehand i can throw about 230-250). all the other discs i've tried throwing turn over or drop left or do...
pull a happy gilmore: dive in after it, search the bottom (covered in discs) find and retrieve only yours, and stand up victoriously while the crowd cheers for you.
hey, discs are alot more expensive than golf balls, so that might actually be worth it.
1-Trees. tunnels are nice, but open holes with a line of trees or trees surrounding the basket works too.
2-Good signage; the worst thing is to go to a new course and have no clue where to go. i like to see the distance too. i don't care if the sign doesnt have a 'map' of the hole, as long as it...
my brother used a comet and i used the shark. i loved that disc so much. it was the only one i used for about a year. it was perfect for everything. but that's when i was younger (15), so i couldn't throw the drivers as far as i can now. what a great disc tho. gotta love the shark.
it's the same way in wisconsin, and i'm glad we aren't the only state that does that. i drove 45 minutes to play a course that i was utterly disappointed with. it was really a letdown...since then, i've stuck with courses that i know.
i like to use discraft discs for my drives, but i prefer innova for approach and putt. i think discrafts don't turn over as much (the ones i have thrown, anyways). i have a hard time using innovas drivers.
i'm not quite sure what the big fuss about a course being rated number 1 is. i think it's great advertisement for the course; a course is number one so people will want to go play it. let it be number one for a while and sooner or later a different course will take it over.
i actually putt better with drivers/midrangers than i do with putters...weird, i know. i can make 30 footers with a driver every time but ill fall short with putters more often than not.
for those that have discs at walgreens, what section can you find them in? most walgreens are the same, so i figure they would be in the same spot in every walgreens.
my brother aced a 236 footer once. he's also aced a 155 footer. of course, this thread isn't titled 'the farthest shot your brother ever made' so i guess this really doesn't matter here.
if it's going to be a filler hole, tho, too much flat in one course can get boring, unless there's plenty of trees in the way. if you're going to be walking 300+ feet in between, you might as well throw another hole in there if you can, as long as you don't get too close to any other fairways.

Good course
It's a convenient location, right off the highway but you don't get the highway noise. It's not hard to find. The course is very easy to follow, there are handmade signs on every course that point you in the direction of the next tee. Pro tees and multiple basket locations make for a...
