[MVP] MVP Disc Sports (Official Thread) (Part V)

According to MVP's Steve Hollaway on FB a mid will be getting approved soon.

    [Axiom] Axiom Wrath Distance Driver

I used to throw PDs as my main drivers. One of the best things about them was the variety of runs and plastic types because I could get a variety of flights out of one mold. The Wrath is like a flat PD with a fairly high PLH. In other words, not a good PD....I have a couple domey Wraths in...

    [MVP] Atom

The biggest contrast to me between the Atom and Proxy is speed of flight and speed of the turn and fade. The Proxy has a thicker nose and squarer shoulder with a bit of a higher profile all-around. This slows the flight a bit, but slows the precession of it's turn and fade more noticeably. My...

    [MVP] Atom

I agree with the above assessments regarding the Atom. I will add that my heavy Proton Atom is a legit 0 HSS while still fading late, making it fairly unique among overmold driving putters.

[MVP] MVP Disc Sports (Official Thread) (Part V)

I've been throwing both in the past year. The Particle is faster with a later fade that bites a little harder. Due to the speed the Particle likes lower lines and stalls easily for a putter with a little too much nose up.. The Envy starts fading earlier, but it is a more gradual and forward...

[MVP] MVP VOLT - The Comprehensive Thread

It still blows me away that this was MVP's first driver and probably the only disc that could have knocked the PD out for me. All these years later and its still the backbone of my bag. I recently got and older run purple Proton that I posted a picture of in the MVP thread and I sure have been...

    [MVP] MVP Wave

This is really one of MVP's more underrated drivers. I've been throwing a max weight domey Proton as my main distance disc this winter because it bombs with minimal effort. Even with snow and ice underfoot this disc can get out there. I would really like a more HSS version if anyone knows...

    [Axiom] Axiom Envy

My favorite shot with mine today was on a 345' hole. It's pretty open with a road and trees on the right and the basket is under a big tree at the end. I forced a high anny that was just pulling out as it entered the canopy and dropped down next to the basket. I usually throw a Matrix or even...

    [Axiom] Axiom Envy

I just went and played a bunch of short tees with Envies and Proxies instead of my Atoms. Putting went really well. New putter concentration bias aside there are a few concrete things I liked about my new soft Cosmic Electron Envy compared to the soft E Atoms I've been putting with the last...

    [Axiom] Axiom Envy

I lost the one Envy I've owned a couple days after I hit a 150' b-line through the timber with it for deuce during summer league. Lately I've felt my Atoms have been lacking a little. I miss soft Neutron plastic, especially in the cold. My seasoned Electron Atom putter has begun to change...

[MVP] MVP Disc Sports (Official Thread) (Part V)

I'm glad that you expanded a bit on why you feel the Pyro lacks glide for a mid. We all know the Pyro is a mid, but it has a rim thickness of 1.6, which is as long of wing as a Stalker. Roc/Buzzz are 1.2cm for comparison. This is why I was comparing it to a fairway driver. At 100-150' a...

[MVP] MVP Disc Sports (Official Thread) (Part V)

The Zone is a fast putter and the Pyro is a slow fairway. They are different diameters, different nose shapes, and different wing shapes. They simply don't fly anything the same when given the same power and release angle. Which is better is going to be totally dependent on personal style and...

[MVP] MVP Disc Sports (Official Thread) (Part V)

I think you got a dud. My Prism Pyro is money. I use on BH touch shots all the time and that first Pyro ace is coming. I also find it to have a lot of glide for an overstable mid. Most of the time I'm throwing it BH with varying degrees of anhyzer and touch for shots 275'-325'. My newer one...

I can compare the molds, though most of my Insanity experience has been with the Neutron version. For me the Insanity is a hyzer-flip-to-flat specialist. If it gets it's nose a little too turned it's done. It likes to ride flat or just slightly turned and fade. I've never had consistent...

[MVP] MVP Disc Sports (Official Thread) (Part V)

Since I've been really enjoying my Pyro I decided to get a backup while the Prisms are still easy to get. This one is the lightest I've seen @ 176g, opaque, and really grippy.

[MVP] MVP Disc Sports (Official Thread) (Part V)

It is much like a faster and more dynamic Relay. It has a slow and methodical turn with a reliable late fade. It glides better than the Relay as well as being faster, so you can probably imagine the tailwind potential. Perhaps time for an Impulse buy. As a side note the disc name could fit...

[MVP] MVP Disc Sports (Official Thread) (Part V)

I've been slowly gaining some real appreciation for my Impulse as an understable compliment to my Volts. In terms of speed, glide, and feel it is the closest MVP brand mold to the Volt imo. I can finesse it without too much touchiness and it does all things understable well. Right now it's...

Dayuuuum check out this stiff, pre #'s, super high PLH Volt I just found! On the left is my most overstable newer Neutron Volt for comparison. I can't wait to test it out.

Since there seem to be varying experiences I'm going to be as specific as possible. I have one clear Prism Pyro. It was stickered 176, but scales 177.8g. It is pink with a yellow rim. I throw this disc primarily BH off the tee and for FH approaches. I think the flight #'s are pretty dead on...
