Imagine this for a minute and tell me what you think.

20 holes with 15 of them having multiple pin placements. Novice/Am/Pro tee pads for each hole(either concrete or rubber). Signs for all 60 of the pads each unique to the pad. In other words, distance on the sign is the distance specific for the tee pad it is on. Garbage can on every other hole, bench and bag holder on every hole, two bridges crossing over the creeks, a practice basket, signs on the road next to courses warning drivers of disc golfers and discs flying. Tee pads are done in concrete on the open longer holes and rubber in the woods. Large course sign with map. The best innova baskets on all the holes. Excellent mixture of open holes and wooded holes, right and left dog legs. What do you think?

Sounds really good, but why 20 holes? We have a 20 hole course in our area (Cedarock in Burlington NC) and I usually skip 2 holes to make a standard 18.

What course is it?

For Tournaments, digital scorecards. At the clubhouse a digital scoreboard reader that refreshes every 2 mins. It would also be nice to have a Disc Vending Machine at hole 9 to replace any lost discs.

don't forget...

what about the beer lady in the cart that regularly makes her rounds...and the beer is always cold

  • Needs lots of elevation changes, all of at least 30 ft and up to an 80 ft drop... 10 Down and 9 Up.
  • Water in play on at least 10 holes and lots where the basket is on the left so you choose your balance of risk vs. reward to get close to the basket.
  • Great hole length variety from 190 to 1200 ft. in gradations along the way.
  • Great fairway variety-- 4 Straight tunnel shots, 5 Left curves, 5 Right doglegs, 3 S curves, 1 L bend.
  • 2 sets of baskets per hole (oh waith, Warwick already has that!)

It's fun to dream!

garbage cans on every hole will only result in a community wide game of jenga played with tall boys, which then results in garbage in the cans and in the 5 foot radius around the can. responsible players with pack out, pack in and LNT on their minds is the best clean course policy.

No real reason for the extra holes except for space at tourneys. They could very easily be skipped. I was asked what you consider the perfect course and these are some ideas I came up with. Obviously elevation changes would be great but not possible where are little course is. We have the ability to expand and go long and it is in the long term plans but to make it perfect would take a miracle amount of money. We were thinking kid friendly too by including the novice tees as a permanent part of the course. Tall boys not really an issue here, dry county and the cops are not real cool about breaking that law. We have some beer drinkers on the course but it is usually low profile and they do a generally good job of keeping it off the course and in the cans. Drivers down the street are another different issue entirely. Thanks for the input guys.
