Pros:
-There are baskets
-Upkeep is OK
Cons:
-Only found 7 baskets (missing #1 and #8, I think)
-No tees, tee signs, signs of a course
-Walking path in play on every hole
-Parking lot in play on hole #9
-Athletic fields in play on #3, #6, #7 #8
Other Thoughts:
Alburnett DGC plays around the athletic complex on the south end of Alburnett, IA. An attempt to add a set of baskets to an already busy athletic complex, there were only 7 of the 9 temp baskets found around the outer edge of the complex. Starting at the entrance, I think because I believe #1 basket is missing, play is clockwise. The complex has fields for football, baseball, softball and soccer plus a practice area west of the football stadium. The walking path wraps around the outer edge of the area and the course follows it. A mostly flat area with a few trees in your path, but most of the trees define the edge of the property. I always applaud someone adding disc golf to a community, however, this has safety issues written all over it. Not sure if there is a better spot in town to add these baskets. If this one survives, the 2 baskets need found, add at last some basic tee signage and maybe even concrete pads. Even if you're bagging, I would probably pass on this one.
