Amazing Camp 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 26, 2009 Played the course:once

Pros:

reasonable mix of shots, and distances
Camp it's located in is amazing
Well marked tees and objects

Cons:

Plays through parts of the camp that could likely be crowded, as well as over parking lots and streets. Only objects

Other Thoughts:

I figured I'd stop by and see what this was about, and it was empty so I figured no one would mind if I played a round and got some info for the site. I course plays through almost the whole camp and the camp has pretty much everything a kid could want to do so if your local join the Y and make some use of this place(rock climbing, skate park, lake with inflatables, bmx dirt track). Course starts on the corner of the parking lot across from the main building. The tee signs are easy to spot and the objects(mix of 4x4s, poles, and trees) have nice big numbers on them.Tees are natural and mostly grass. The course is easy to follow, I only got caught up because I missed the fact that 12's tee was just past 11's object. The holes are mostly open but use distance and I would assume the roads and parking lots as ob to add challenge to the holes. Hole 5 has a nasty pit in the middle you should try to stay out of. The course design confuses me because I don't see it being practical if the park is full of cars and people as holes 7,8,9,10,12 play over parking lots and park roads, and holes 12,13,14,15,16 play through the camp it's self. I was also wondering what age group this was designed for as hole 14 is 582 ft long and others are also quite lengthy.

The course and camp are really pretty and well kept, and it provides a reasonable challenge. If I was a local I would try and see if I could play it or wait for it to look empty and go out anyways. I got my second ace here on the 16 hole an up hill left fade to a tree.
