Ok course

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 21, 2022 Played the course:once

Pros:

The course is on a coherent layout for the first 9 holes, and one can more or less follow it around once one figures out the pattern.

Plenty of space between holes.

Uphill and downhill shots, and a variety of angles needed for shots.

I may just be a terrible player compared to others, but for me the challenge level was fine. Some of the holes like#1 and #10 require a near perfect approach shot or there is a bogey or double bogey guaranteed.

As said before lhbh amd rhfh friendly, but I would add it is about time to find one of them...

Easy to find tee 1 if you know to find the baseball field.

Turns within the hole come at an intuitive place for a rec level player, even if some of the layout choices were interesting (between buildings etc)

Baskets were in great shape and course seemed well-maintained.

Cons:

It was strange how difficult the alternate tees were to find. At a couple of the holes, I picked stakes or other possible temporary markers to throw from. Three were either missing or overgrown. Others were right where expected.

No map, makes little or no difference on 1-9 but it was a problem on the 2nd nine for the reason stated above.

OB placement made sense to avoid anyone on the track, but it encouraged the player to throw into the trees on the other side of the soccer field. Just said no ob for me today, and that was that :)

Some blind corners, few students there when I played and I didn't throw all out in between buildings, but someone could conceivably get hurt that way.

Other Thoughts:

Pros may not like the course but rec players should enjoy it. If making par is important to you, just play another course.
