Pros:

Corona and Lime DGC is a nice little beginner friendly nine located at the Truax-Longmire VFW just a few minutes off of Hwy 51. Free to play and open to the public, I highly doubt that this course is ever busy for the most part. They had a sign up by hole one about a tourney there. Other than that kind of thing you'll almost assuredly have the place to yourself.

The course is right outside of the busier parts of Madison, but you'd hardly notice with the nice panaramic views from most of the course. It's not postcard scenic, but surprisingly pretty for this area.

The baskets are, fittingly, Dynamic Veterans. They alternate between red and white ones for each hole. These are nice baskets imo. Not the most top of the line but perfectly serviceable for a little course like this one. One pin and position per hole. All were mounted nicely too. Zero complaints for these.

There's some elevation used out here on pretty much every hole. Subtle mostly, but it makes the round much more intersting. If the wind is up, which it seems to be more often than not, it can be borderline adventerous.

Quick play with easy to follow layout here. This is one I'd gladly play twice. Just a fun, well laid out course that has enough challenge for newer players and ace run opportunities for more experienced folks.

You tee off next to, then throw uphill towards a fighter jet on holes 2 and 3. Legit, fighter jet. Pretty awesome.

I'm not sure since I'm not local, but this course seems like it may be permanent. This would be HUGE for the Madison area since the big 4 are "seasonal" courses. This would be a phenomenal winter course too. No underbrush and basically no rough, short holes. I'd play this one all winter. I mean, I'd have to, but I'd be happy to do so.

Cons:

Natural tees. Not a big deal with the distances required here. All of these were in decent shape anyway. Worth noting though, since many will snub their noses at these. I'm sure they're not ideal in wet conditions either of course, but this is a short course.

No tee signs. Just a brick with the hole number painted on them. There's a small american flag by each of these which helps to spot the tee. Without these it'd be a bit tricky to find the intended tee. All were present each of the times we played here though. Would be tricky without them.

The holes are all on the shorter side, even for a noodle arm like myself. Not really a con, more a head's up. Don't expect to come out here and rip on a driver. It's mostly open but requires touchy putter and mid shots mostly.

Other Thoughts:

This is just a really fun, short course that is accessable to all skill levels. Well designed, great flow and just...fun. I'd absolutely recommend this one if you're travelling through. Well worth a stop.

Great warm up or cool down for the 18's in the area. It won't blow you away, but it's hard not to like. Fun little ace run, putter course done really well.

'MURICA! drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 25, 2021 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

- Fun 9 Hole course for the land available.
- Good use of the elevation in the area.
- There's a fighter jet and a tank on this course, what more do I need to say?
- Plenty of parking.
- Bar and Grill near by if you need a snack or drink before/after your round.

Cons:

- Holes 5-7 just go up and down the hill parallel to each other. Chance of people getting hit.
- Course uses grass & driveway for tee pads.
- Not a whole lot of distance or challenge.

Other Thoughts:

A pretty decent 9 hole course to be honest. As previous reviews stated, it is a very patriotic themed course. Plays around the VFW and has flags, a fighter jet, and a tank on the course. Also the baskets are DD Veterans (not sure if that was on purpose).

Fun course to play if you want to bring out family/friends. Want a few ace runs, need some putter practice, etc.!

America! 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Aug 7, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

+ This is, hands down, the most patriotically American course I have ever played. We're talking USA flags by the tees and red/white/blue DISCatcher baskets. It'd be a great course to play on 4th of July or Memorial Day.

+ The area is maintained very well. Grass is mowed, no trash on the ground, and facilities were clean.

+ The course overlooks a marsh area and you can see the capitol in the background (behind #5, I think).

+ Slight elevation change and sparse trees are utilized well, though the area doesn't offer many obstacles.

+ As Vince said, plenty of parking and a very low chance of losing a disc.

+ It's worth mentioning that it's free, which is a big plus for being in the Madison area. I'd imagine that this course will stay in year round, which is also a huge plus if you're wanting to throw some Frisbees when the rest of Dane County is pulled.

Cons:

- Not very challenging. An advanced player could have a shot at playing a 18 stroke round with just their putter. The elevation is mild and trees are pretty rare. It's mostly just an open field, more or less.

- Consequentially, not really that fun of a course. I suppose it's good for P&A and ace running, but I have a hard time imagining that I'll be back.

Other Thoughts:

All in all, a unique course because of how proudly American it is, but the disc golf is "meh" at best.

Beginner fun 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:May 9, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

-great baskets with numbers
-great views
-good elevation
-grassy, no dirt
-cool military equipment in park
-low chance of losing disc
-course map displayed near hole 1
-easy to navigate
-plenty of parking
-dog friendly

Cons:

-no teepads
-no signs, just numbered stones in ground to throw next to.
-pretty wide open holes with little hazards
-some holes are a little too close together if crowded
-short holes, all are under 250 feet

Other Thoughts:

I thought this was a decent 9 hole course to play with a putter and midrange. No long drives here so it's very beginner friendly. A lot of ace opportunities. Good place for a family outing and picnic. Great views of both military equipment and fields near by. Plays next to a bar, but closed during quarantine. Good amount of elevation used here. Nice new baskets, not sure which type exactly but they are mach baskets with red and white rings. The course itself has little American flags next to the tee off stones in the ground so it's easy to navigate. Little chance of losing any disc here. First hole starts between road and dumpsters on north end of parking lot. A map of the course is displayed on the fence surrounding the dumpsters. A lot of back and forth through the course so some holes can be too close if its crowded but no blind shots so that helps. Otherwise, if you live in the Madison area it's another place to throw while the bigger courses are still closed due to the quarantine. Might also be a good winter course if it stays in year-round.
