The Big Baggers Won't Be Able To Dodge It. 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 28, 2019 Played the course:once

Pros:

(0.918 Rating) An open school course perfect for newer players.
- BEGINNER FRIENDLY - They really don't get much more open than this. I counted two trees in play on the entire layout. There are some tall grasses on the far fringes on a couple holes, but it would take some horrible shots to find it. This course is going the be ideal for first time players, but that's likely it. I was bored to death even considering the higher than normal ace potential.
- TEES - Passable 4 feet by 7 feet rubber tees that are in good condition. They are kind-of flat. I normally wouldn't pro this tee description, but I was reaching for nice things to say.
- QUICK PLAY - Despite no markings and some discontinuity, I was able to bag this one in 25 minutes.
- MAINTENANCE - Like most school courses, well mowed.

Cons:

I repeat, two trees in play on the entire course.
- UNIQUENESS - This course is so bland and boring that I thought about running into the school to take a lecture on French poetry halfway through. Basically, all open field shots. Maybe 15 feet of elevation change on the entire course.
- LACK OF CHALLENGE -Skilled played will want to shoot 9 down. Novice level players should be able to shoot under par. Wind will be the most challenging element.
- NAVIGATION - Nothing is marked here. I started with the three holes on the southeast side of the school. There's then a big gap between the third and fourth hole which is about 800 feet. Its between a baseball diamond and the southeast corner of the school building. Honestly however, this is not impossible to figure out. Just a few extra minutes of recon. It's just such an open landscape.
- CHARACTER - Just unmarked baskets and tees for this one.
- NATURAL BEAUTY - Yeah.... No.
- ACCESS - I'm going to assume that this course is not accessibly when school is in session.

Other Thoughts:

To sort-of quote the movie Dodgeball, "If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge this course." This layout is far worse than the average Joe course. No reason for those other than hardcore baggers to come here. In fact, if you want to see a near all-inclusive list of Wisconsin baggers, just look at whose marked this course as played. A lot of familiar names in there. In fact, the average number of bagged courses of the 27 members who have marked this course played equals 425!

Who needs obstacles? 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 29, 2019 Played the course:once

Pros:

This place qualifies as a disc golf course because, strictly speaking, it has the essentials of disc golf baskets and tees. Other than that, there's not much attractive about this location.

+ Given that this 'course' is on school grounds, the maintenance is top notch. The grass is mowed regularly and there was no trash to be seen.

+ Great place to practice on the weekends, I suppose?

Cons:

- Very few obstacles. Elevation change is minimal. Very few trees come into play. Most holes are <250 ft wide open shots on a field.

- A map and tee signs would go a long way. That said, we found that the course basically just plays clockwise around the school with a couple long walks between a few of the holes.

Other Thoughts:

It's a quick, easy course to bag if it's on your way. Otherwise, there's no reason to travel here. The reviews prior to mine are all still accurate and relevant.

Just another bagged course... 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jan 31, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

9 baskets set up around a school building, on the edge of Juneau.

Like the previous reviewers have said, this is basically 9 Mach 2 baskets spread around some fields. The baskets are in good shape, and catch as well as they should.

Rubber mats for tee pads, which were all pretty level and did the job, even if they are a bit short.

There is a tiny bit of elevation in play on holes 4 and 6, but it's nothing more than that. Hole 6 has a decent hillside placement, which could turn into rollaways.

Ace runs galore, which isn't always a bad thing.

Cons:

Short. The longest hole was MAYBE 250'. Most hover around the 200' range. Great for kids, beginners, and ace runners, but not much challenge otherwise. I played it with a mid and a putter.

No real obstacles on the course. It's all pretty much wide open, with only hole 8 having a few trees.

No tee signs. I was fortunate to play this when there was barely any snow on the ground, otherwise I'd have had no clue. The couple of the first holes have bird feeders next to the tees, which helps a little.

Navigation is somewhat wonky, with hole 4 all the way across the parking lot (to the west), with no signs to tell you where to go. Outside that, though, it was pretty simple to follow, if you can find the tee pads.

Other Thoughts:

This is ok for what I assume it is, a school gym class course. Kids and beginners will dig it, or those that just want to go out with a putter and practice some approaches. Other than that, if you're not here for something, the only reason to come here is to add a course played to your list.

School course. Same as the rest. 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 30, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

There are 9 Mach 2 baskets here that wrap around the school starting on the southeast corner of the property. The baskets were in good shape and level. There are about 3'x6' rubber mats for each tee. These helped with knowing where to throw from. There is very slight elevation on a couple holes, nothing drastic but better than totally flat. Course ends as close as possible to where you started.

Cons:

Hardly any obstacles. A couple trees on hole 8 and the slight elevation on holes 5 and 6 I believe. No tee signs so navigation can be tricky. Just start on the southeast corner along the road. After hole 3 walk west past the ball diamonds to find 4 and the rest wraps around the school. The course can't be played during school hours.

Other Thoughts:

This is just your typical school course. It just plays through open, mowed fields. Nothing to go even remotely out of your way for. It is nice for the students though and that's who it's intended for so It's passable for that.

Juneau there was a course here? 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 2, 2011 Played the course:once

Pros:

1) Another school with a course . . . promoting the sport to the youngsters.

2) Nice turf all over this course . . . generally from lack of use I am sure.

3) Rubber mats are better than bare dirt or grass when instaled right. They were mostly done ok here.

4) RIsk/reward on a few of the baskets along the hill and also under a tree with a wetland behind the basket to avoid.

5) Nice Mach baskets . . . in good shape and installed properly. The baskets didn't make me three putt one hole and 2 putt 2 others . . . I DID.

Cons:

1) Hole distances are very similar which limits disc selection and variety.

2) A few of the rubber mats could have been installed better.

3) Not enough challenge here to bring me back . . . its just another course played.

4) Not enough variety . . . other than the basket on the sidehill, the basket under the tree and needing to elevaye a teeshot on the one up the hill . . the rest of the holes are pretty much boring and open.

5) Road comes into play as does the parking lot on a couple of shots.

Other Thoughts:

I actually three putted on the shortest 170' hole otherwise I could have had a much better round, but -4 on 9 holes isn't too bad. We played this on the way home from our tournament in Beaver Dam. I didn't expect much with it being in the middle of nowhere at a school. The couple of things they used good design for actually were better than I expected, but just not enough for me to really want to come back.

That's about it . . . I doubt I will ever be back, just not enough to draw me in!

buckets to throw at 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 1, 2010 Played the course:once

Pros:

Nine baskets permanently installed.
I think this is three section of three baskets for student use. "Holes" within the three baskets sections are short and unblocked; i.e. @200 ft.; one blocked with some trees. We played from basket to basket and the pros would be the "holes" going from one section to another. First is a 400+ ft. shot involving Hwy. 26. Day we played; there was a fierce head wind; which threw my rhbh to the right; across the highway; twice!!! Ended that hole with a double circle 8!!! Next long one brings baseball field, dug outs and another building into play and is even longer; also pavement in play. Third long one; we did not play as parking lot was full. To play it would be an even longer hole with tons of parking lot o.b.
During the summer; I imagine you will have the course to yourself for practice.

Cons:

Not really a course; I wasn't going to post it here.
No tee areas. No markings of any sort. We just happened to see the baskets from highway and pulled in.
School course bringing those issues into play.

Other Thoughts:

Now that this "course" is posted; I guess you can play it; to cross it off the list. There are some decent safari holes here as noted; but, otherwise, nothing really going on.
