fun complement to the long course 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 19, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

-ACE RUNS!!
-really fun variety of shots
-accessible to a wide range of players
-tees and baskets in great condition
-great for snow or night rounds

Cons:

There are not many cons if you accept this course for what it is. It is intended to be a fun round of ace runs so there are obviously no long shots. You could nitpick and say that too many of the baskets are straight ahead (2, 3, 5, 6, 7) or wide open (4, 6).

Other Thoughts:

This little pitch and putt course is a great addition to the DR Disc Golf complex. DR is the only 18 hole layout in Bangor and this additional 9 holes adds the variety it needed. The 18 are all wooded, with many very long and challenging holes. These 9 ace runs provide a nice balance.

There are no signs or posted distances yet but all the holes seem to be in the 175 to 250 range. A few have baskets positioned off the side of the fairways but most are straight ahead with fairways that are forgiving but wooded off to the sides. All baskets are visible off the pad except 4 (dogleg right) and 8 (obscured by trees).

There is an easy line to the basket on every hole. Experienced players should shoot 18 unless they make a mistake or end up with too long a putt after gunning for the chains off the pad.

If you are in the Bangor area, DR Disc Golf should be on the top of your to-play list. The long 18 is a good course and the short 9 is a fun warm up. It is also a great place to bring beginners or kids, play winter or night rounds, or just to shoot a carefree round that isn't too challenging.
