Short Wooded Ace Runs 2+ years

Pros:
(1.612 Rating) A beautiful park with several short technical ace runs.
- NATURAL BEAUTY - Far and away the best aspect of the Reservation course, is its beauty. A couple wonderful views of elegant Lake Bradford. The vegetation is vibrant and in healthy appearance. There is wildlife buzzing all around. The place just feels like a relaxing hideaway.
- ACEABILITY - All nine tee shots under 250 feet. So needless to say, you're going to be gunning for chains on many holes. This stated, several holes are well guarded (1-5) and surprisingly none of the 56 DGCR recorded rounds list an ace. I personally solidly smacked the rim of the basket on (3).
- NAVIGATION - After finding (1) I had no issues with my downloaded map. The holes are marked by post and large number.
- ELEVATION FOR FLORIDA - Like all the Tallahassee courses, surprising elevation changes for a Florida course. Hole (5) is 25 feet down and hole (7) is about 20 feet up. Less than two dozen Florida courses I've played can claim these numbers (102 Florida courses played as of this review)
- QUICK PLAY - I blew through this one in 15 minutes.
- MAINTENANCE - A well maintained park. Expect kept of fairways, mowed grass and no trash.
- PARK AMENITIES - Although not course related, there are lot of other neat things to do here, including several water activities, ropes courses and just plain old chilling out at one of the several large and wonderful pavilions along the lake.

Cons:
Don't expect an All-star course experience like that of Tallahassee's Tom Brown or Jack McLean.
- PARK HOURS - This course took me 5 attempts to finally play. Twice I got turned around as the gates close at 7pm and this may be earlier depending on the season. I also twice got turned around due to inclement weather. Thus far, the Reservation course has been the most difficult course for me to try and bag out. Be sure and check course hours and expect park closure if lightning is seen within the state of Florida. In all seriousness, they flip'n closed the park under light rain conditions. Man I was teed off.
- TEES - Pretty bad, natural and rutted. In addition, an upright board marks the tee line. What a wonderful tripping hazard for the player that likes to follow thru. Thankfully with the shortness of the holes, the follow thru really isn't necessary.
- CHARACTER - Disc golf amenities and comfort items are non-existence. Even the baskets are starting to show their age.
- UNIQUENESS - The holes themselves in terms variety are well below average. All the holes are 233 feet long or shorter. There are no doglegs or really any hole that twists more than 5 degrees. No par 4's or 5's as well of course. What does come into play however, and as stated in the pros, a couple good elevation changes for Florida standards.
- TOO EASY - Too short and not a challenge to Intermediate players and up. Advanced players should have no problem being well under course par. Recreational players may be delighted however as it can be a feel good round. It's a great opportunity for those players to finish below par.
- OVERGROWTH - A fair amount of overgrowth on this course. The layout runs through some substantial wooded areas for holes (1-5). However, after that, the course plays much more open.
- DISCONTINUITY - Basket (3) to tee (4) is the only substantial gap. The map looks a bit off as it seems you should head into a cordoned off area. The correct path is the trail that splits the fenced off area and a cabin.
- BASKET AND TEE SEPARATION - Tee (3) is within twenty feet of basket (2). It's somewhat protected by the trees, but ricochets happen.
- PAY TO PLAY - $3. Not worth it considering that Tom Brown and Jack Mclean are free. However, if you feel the need to play every course, what's $3 one time?

Other Thoughts:
For out of towners looking for the best area course, this isn't it. However, if you live in Tallahassee its worth checking out at least once, but I'd suggest investing some additional time to check out the other park amenities as well.
