2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 20, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

The blue band baskets are easily visible from the tee pads. The tee pads are nice and actually have the tee signs inside the pads. They're very well done with hole number and distances. Giant kiosk board by parking lot of hole 1. Shorter course allowing some ace runs and great for new begginers. Even with the shorter holes, most are low lines with branch over hangs adding obstacle to the shorter course. It will make advanced players have to be accurate as the trees come into play on most holes. Quick play

Cons:

Hole 7 and 9 share the same basket. Hole 9 dosen't end near hole 1...so there's a little walkout after the round. No real big distance holes...Park is pretty crammed. A couple say par 2s still over 140 feet should be 3s

Other Thoughts:

Fence to the left of 3 can come into play overall a fun quick little 9 good place to take new players.

Small but nice 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 20, 2017 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

- Although compact, this course does a good job of requiring you to hit a variety of lines
- No large elevation changes, but still the small hills make an impact on how you approach several of the holes. Hole 5 is a great example of this.
- Not overly wooded but very nice use of the trees on the property
- Concrete teepads with durable signs attached
- Plays quickly, can get two solo rounds done in 45 minutes
- Almost never have to wait for a group in front of you
- Park is very well maintained. It is mowed frequently in spring and summer.

Cons:

- Hole 9 is a wide open, short hole. Definitely an ace run but I wish the final hole was a bit more... inspired.
- No benches or trash cans by teepads (there are some in other areas of park)
- Course is close to other areas where you will need to keep an eye out for bystanders. There is a walking trail through the park, hole 4 lies close to a YMCA pool, holes 6 and 9 are close to a skate park.
- Additionally, some holes lie in close proximity so in the rare times the course is busy you will need to be aware of other golfers
- No alternate tees or pin positions

Other Thoughts:

Great course for beginners, but still fun for more advanced disc golfers. It values accuracy without being too punishing for an errant shot, and it doesn't require a big arm to shoot a good score. There are a couple of dud holes (looking at you 6 and 9), but the others make up for it.

For those at all interested in American history, the Santa Fe Trail winds through course. There are a couple of markers for this.

The course has a family friendly vibe (may be a pro or con depending on your viewpoint). I bring my 7 year old here to play and don't encounter some of the, let's say recreational, behaviors that you might see at other courses (don't get the wrong impression, I am no prude). There is also a police station immediately adjacent to the course so it's probably not the best place to crush a 12 pack while you play a round.

Overall, the course gets a thumbs up from me. I would rate it higher if it was an 18 hole course of the same quality. I enjoy playing it frequently because I live relatively close, but there are much better offerings in the Kansas City area. Still, if you are close by it's worth checking out.

Nice little 9 hole 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:May 24, 2016 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

This course does a great job using the space and obstacles available to it. A pretty small treed area is utilized by several holes. Hole 6 may be completely open, but the designer didn't have much choice since just about every tree in the park is used on other holes. 10/10

This course has been well mowed all three times I've been there. Hole maps are present on each tee pad and are still in good condition. I've never seen any litter on the course. A bench or two and a water fountain wouldn't hurt. Course maintenance 9/10

The only place you could potentially lost a disc is if you grip lock into backyards on holes 4 or 5. Disc finding 9/10

Baskets are in good shape except for being a little tilted on hole 2. Tees are concrete, maybe a little small, but the course is short enough is doesn't matter much. Holes 3 and 5 are the only holes players might need a longer run up. Baskets/Tees 8/10

There is a pretty good mix of openness on this course. Holes 6 and 9 are very open, A few holes require hitting some fairly tight lines, and a few others are somewhere in between. Variety of openness 7/10

Hole maps are present and helpful on tees. There are a couple of spots where baskets are close to each other and you could potentially throw to the wrong one. 7/10 on hole navigation

The course is great for beginners due to its length, but has enough obstacles to challenge intermediate players and keep advanced players interested. 7/10

There are a few holes that force you to shape shots. Holes 3 and 4 favor left to right, while holes 1 and 8 favor right to left. 6/10

Navigation between holes is pretty intuitive, most of the time the next tee is visible from the previous basket. Some next tee arrows on the poles might be helpful. 6/10

Although most holes are short to intermediate distance, there is still some decent variety. 1, 4, and 9 are 200-240. Holes 3 and 5 play around 350-400 feet. There are several holes are right around 300. 6/10

Cons:

No alternate pin positions or tees. There wouldn't really be space for them on most holes anyway though. 0/10

A couple holes have some options for how to play them, but there isn't a ton of decisionmaking required here. 4/10

There isn't a lot of elevation present, but what is present is utilized. Holes 1, 3, and 6 are a little uphill, while holes 5 and 9 are a little downhill. 4/10

Other Thoughts:

Overall difficulty of the course: 3/10

This course would be a great warmup course and well worth a play if you live in the area. It would be nice if there were a couple other courses in the immediate vicinity. This course can also be played in 30 minutes making it a good option if you're short on time. Also a great place to take beginners.

Very Enjoyable Course 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 10, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

- good course sign
- - rules/etiquette
- - course overlayed on photo
- tee pads
- - about 8'-9' long and 4' wide at back, 5' wide at front
- - flat hole sign with info in back right corner
- tree obstacles on every hole except 6
- baskets are in good shape except #2 (see con)
- plays in about 30 minutes when not crowded

Cons:

- basket on Hole 2 is leaning pretty good
- pretty flat course
- a lot of other amenities which could bring a lot of people into play

Other Thoughts:

I played with my son-in-law and we had a great time. Even though it's not real long there were some challenging shots. Hole 5 is my favorite. There were some 300+' holes which made having a driver handy for me.

A nice little 9 holer that will make you shape some lines 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 7, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

This is a well maintained course with adequate signage and ample tee pads.
The baskets are blue and are easy to see.
There are some holes with short length and some with moderate length. Uses the elevation that is present well.
There is a good amount of trees here to make you shape lines and a few low celing shots.
A couple of holes will have you wanting to run the chains and chase that ACE.
The course flows logically. There are other amenities on site, like a playground, skate park, etc.
This is a good learners couse that will challenge but shouldn't frustrate someone new to the game.

Cons:

There are some rocks under the baskets that might be hard on baseline plastic.
There might be a few fairways where people could be camped out on a nice day.
There is a possibility of putting a disc into the skate park, but you would have to shank one pretty bad to make this happen.

Other Thoughts:

This is a new course that is a fun play. New players will find shots here to challenge them and they should have the opportunity to score well at the same time. Being an advanced/imtermediate player I had fun at this course. Its a good little nine hole course that could be used as a warm up for one of the many KC area courses. If you are looking for a course with wide open spaces and long holes then you will have to move on down the road. If you like a 9 hole park style course with a nice amount of trees to make you shape lines then hit this course up.
