Pros:

(1.754 Rating) A private park style course with a few bomber and technical plays.
- SIGNAGE - Houck signage, so it looks very appealing and has all the info needed. I'm not sure if he actually saw this course in person, cause the lines didn't match the signage on a couple of the trickier holes.
- CHAINS - Great DISCatcher baskets.
- NAVIGATION - In addition to the nice tee signs and baskets, the navigation is surprisingly easier than one would think. Solid course map just prior to tee (1) and tee signs have next tee direction on them. The next tee is often in view from the preceding basket, but even if it wasn't, one can just pull up a picture of the course map.
- CHALLENGING - About average or perhaps a touch below. I included it up here as I was looking for nice things to stay. The course is a mixture of open and wooded holes, but weighted towards open. Although a weak arm like mine could record a couple birdies, the overall length will be too much for newer players. A couple of the shorter wooded holes have no realistic line. Hole (14) especially, which is a short and narrow par 3 tunnel shot that moves left, then right, then back to the left. I've only seen carried discs make this type of arc.

Cons:

The money was here in spots, the overall execution wasn't.
- PRIVATE - Either put on your sneaky shoes on or find a buddy that works for Honda, that's the only way to get in here. For the record, I only advise the latter. The gate to the park reads "This is a private facility, access is restricted to authorized individuals only."
- PARKING - There is no parking, unless a player has a badge to get into the park.
- SPACING - The basket and tee separations are way too close to each other in numerous instances. Tee (10) sits in the path of a blind shot from (9). Although the signs were done by a pro, the same cannot be said for this layout. Fairways (3) and (9) cross, SMH.
- OVERGROWTH - I question whether anyone plays this course. The rough around the baskets was not trampled down. Wooded areas were thick with overgrowth, even in mid December. Vegetation was growing into lines on (13) thru (15). Hole (6s) line was nearly all swallowed up. The parts of the course that are open are mowed and maintained well. It's only a third of the course that needs more maintenance.
- MULTI USE HAZARDS - Eleven. The number of shots with a walking path in play. The waking path is the fairway or part of the fairway on (10) thru (15).
- CHARACTER - A boat load of money was spent on the DISCather baskets and likely also the signage. That's it. The tees are natural without a defined line. The surfaces by the tee sign had zero pitting, a signal that no one plays here. No benches, no alternate tees, no alternate baskets and no practice basket either.
- NATURAL BEAUTY - The park is alright. There are some cool lines for sure. However the course is open in too many spots with major roads or sports complex structures in view. No stunning water plays, rock elements or backdrop views. Honda Park very much has a typical city park feel.

Other Thoughts:

It felt like a 1.75 course. I was honestly impressed by this course considering there's hardly any information about it online. It provides the basic framework of the game in a format that may be able to satisfy a beginner through perhaps an Intermediate level player. It's a shame more people don't know about this course or play it. A good time could be had for sure.
