The hills are alive with the sound of chains 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 24, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

Very challenging course, with lots of narrow, wooded fairways. Good mixture of straight holes and holes curving away to the right and left requiring a mixture of backhand and forehand shots, and proper selection of discs.

A few of the hills were quite steep and presented quite a challenge. On these steep hills logs set crosswise into the hill help prevent erosion and can (sometimes) stop your disk from rolling back behind you!

Metal plates with cut out arrows in some of the baskets pointed the way to the next hole, making it really easy to navigate the course. Signs for all the holes are excellent with a map and showing distance and elevation rise.

Cons:

A few of the holes on the front nine are over an area recently logged and there is a lot of downed branches and little cover, making for a very dirty area. You have to watch your footing through this area or risk falling down.

Holes are a bit mixed up around 4, 6, 7, and 8, so pay attention to the markings. A couple holes throw along a pedestrian trail, so you may have to stop and let people walk through.

Other Thoughts:

Hole 11 is 59 meters, with an 11 meter rise to the basket. A great hole.

Hole 14 is a long 134 meters with a drop in elevation of 16 meters. Able to launch hard and fast and let your disc cover a lot of ground. Lots of brush down below, easy to lose a disc.

Hole 16 is probably the steepest hole on the course, 50 meters to the basket with a rise of 20 meters. Not a hole for rollers!

Except for those few holes on the front nine it is a very beautiful course. No water hazards (which suits me just fine!) but some nearby water you get to walk past. Course is on a multi-purpose tract of land so you will most likely see hikers in the area but on most of the holes there is really no chance of hitting them.
