Nice tee pads, and signage. Long and short tee pads which can give you good variety if youre local. Some good elevation change, and some really tight lines around a dry creek bed. Cool pin placements including some in giant tires

Almost every hole has an extra pin and gets super confusing if you haven't played it. Some holes just really aren't that fun, 12, 15 and 16 criss cross. Hole 4 is just kind of dumb.

I see how this course could be great for tournaments however for out of towners who haven't played it will be frustrating

Mountain Pride Park is a fairly large park with an upper part mostly containing two softball fields and an open field. Then there is a lower section which is undeveloped and really quite dingy feeling. Much of the course plays through this lower area. The course seems like it was put together in pieces, one brick at a time. The baskets range from a brand new Innova model (#7) to older single chains. Same thing with the tee pads. Most are these half and half pads with carpet and a rubber vinyl on the other half. The rubber vinyl half was very slippery when just a little wet. There is no signage on the course. Once I figured out where to begin, I was able to navigate well enough. Having numbers on the tee pads and some of the baskets was helpful.
I wasn't too excited about the first six holes. Blind throws, the area is run down, dingy, crummy pads and baskets. Then I arrived at # 7 and went WOW! It's like someone won the lottery and built one first class nice hole here. It has a great elevated tee pad! Two routes to the basket, which by the way, is a NEW Innova model.

But then, I starting appreciating the next 7 or 8 holes as the elevation is used well to create some really fun and challenging holes. # 10 was a short , fun little ACE run. I liked # 11 throwing to the basket in giant truck tire. # 12 and 14 teeing off the upper plateau area. # 16 was a interesting throw from both the long and the short tees.

No signage.
Hard to figure out where to begin.
Riverbed area is just kind of dingy area where you might find a body or two.
Poor tee pads.
Mis-matched baskets.
Holes 17 and 18 were not well designed (could interfere with softball games)
The concrete retaining walls in the riverbed area were treacherous climbing up and down.

Mountain Pride was challenging enough. But I happened to play on a early morning following some a shower and the riverbed area was even gloomier and seemed scroungier than usual. I really enjoyed the holes 7-16 which used the elevation.
This is just a nice solid course, warts and all.

the place is still real rough around the edges. over time the fairways figure to become more clearly defined.
without having a map or a guide it is super challenging to figure out the layout.
the course looks to be in a flood zone. i wouldnt want to be anywhere near there if things were wet.

part of the amazing elevation changes involves concrete sidings (a la flood walls) that are INCREDIBLY steep and terribly slippery. my 5 and 7 year old kids have played dozens of courses across the nation, but this was the first time they ever literally had to slide down on their butts to safely get down from a basket.

Lots of fun holes with a couple of elevation shots, not to many long holes but some what technical course. Stay in the fairway and you'll have a fun day.

Tee pads are slippery in early morning play or in rainy weather. A couple of crossing holes that are dangerous to the average player with not much control of there discs. Hole 10 is a cool hole but just doesn't go with the flow of the course at all.

3.9 is pretty high rating, I gave it a 3 just based on other courses with a 3.9 rating

The course plays through a brushy ravine, most of the holes play flat along the bottom with a handful of shots using some elevation. There are a couple fun downhill shots and a couple nice pin placements on hills with good rollaway potential. For as little elevation as the park offers, the design does a nice job using the small hills to keep things interesting. The brush makes for some difficult shots if you miss your line, most of the holes have plenty of room to work a shot but harsh punishment for an errant throw.

There's a little line shaping required, with a couple tighter shots and some well-protected pins. There is some variety in distances, with some ace run shots and some that have a little room to throw a longer drive. With dual tees on most of the holes, there is even a little more variety in lengths and difficulties. Some add a slightly different line, and all change up the length. Tee pad improvements are in progress, the framed in ones are great and the rest are at least level if a little slick when wet.

There are some major safety issues. Some of the holes in the middle of the course play directly over one another. A few spots have blind shots where you can't see the landing and there are other tees and baskets in those blind landing zones. The walking path and ball field come into play on a couple shots, and the holes that play across the lower field sometimes have families playing in the middle of them.

The course doesn't call for a huge variety of shots, you can get by with simple hyzers and anhyzers for all the holes. There just isn't a whole lot of difficulty as long as you can throw a 350' controlled shot, as many of the holes have rough only on one side. There isn't any marking for hole number at the tees, so navigation is a little tricky especially with the layout changing and dual tees.

The shorter tees offer a nice beginner layout with reasonable distances though the rough is thick enough in some spots to get a little frustrating. More experienced players will find some nice challenges and a handful of really fun shots from the longs, though the safety issues and lack of real shot shaping variety keeps it from being a top level course. The new design is a huge upgrade over the old layout, and provides a much needed intermediate level course in the area to complement the beginner friendly layout nearby.

Very easy to find your way around, doesn't even need tee signs, however the posts are there just waiting for the signs.

Close to houses for the first four holes.
MANY walker use this park for exercise, walking path right next to tee off pads.

Looking over at hole number one, I couldn't help but notice all the DG discs on the roofs of the nearby homes. Being a course designed more for a beginner, this may become a problem soon with this course. Holes two and three beg for a RHBH to shoot towards the houses and curve back. Lefties have it made at this park. righties have a lot more trees deal with.

I really hope this course stays, but it sounds like the local home owners are already complaining. Play this one soon, it may not last. Too bad they couldn't use the watershed, where no one would get in each others way.
