Making the trip out here from Cincinnati , I thought that with the overall rating of 3 , this course might be okay . The course is the driveway past the office and boat ramp . The signage is descriptive and good , and the baskets , sometimes 2 per hole are well done . The course would flow well if the grass wasn't so high . The teepads were adequate and some thought went into the basket placements .

Where do I start ?! I think that they may have cleared this course just long enough to put in the teepads and baskets . I have played disc golf for over 25 years and hundreds of courses and never saw one as in a sorry shape as this one . After teeing off on the first hole , I spent 5-10 minutes looking for my disc, IN THE FAIRWAY . The weeds are mostly up to my waist and as high as my chin , and I'm 6'6" . I spent more time looking for my disc than I did finding the baskets . I threw down the fairway on 5 , wading through chest high weeds and grass . I set my bag on a shiny object in the fairway ( HEY , PRAIRIE CREEK . I FOUND YOUR RIDING MOWER ) TO LOOK FOR MY DISC , Which will never be found . As for the people responsible for the upkeep of this part of the park , please either give the grounds at least minimal upkeep , or give the baskets away to some aspiring course designers to build a course .

Other than the downhill 500 foot #5 , there is no reason to play the other 8 holes . I will never write a review on a course this bad again . There are several other options that you have to play close by , like Lions Club and Goodrich Park .

Beautiful scenery, challenging, and amazing layout. Cincrete tees, spiderweb pins. Amazing view of the lake.

Very woody, easy to lose discs in trees. Also very muddy, yet not as bad as other courses ive been too.

I wood definantly play this course several more times. I highly recommend others check it out for themselves.

Overgrown!!! If this little gem would be kept up this could be a very fun course. As is I couldn't even finish 18 holes. I left and drove all the way to Union City and played there for the 100th time.

With a little upkeep and care this course could be playable. Until I find out that this course has been trimmed up I wont be going back.

baskets - new arachnid baskets. Though not my first choice for baskets on a course, as they tend to wear out pretty quickly when compared to other targets on the market, they are new and they do catch well. They also glow in the dark...kind of.

tee pads - concrete pads on longs and staked off pads for the shorts. Most of the time the shots are pretty different from one another and offer a good variety.

this course is a good compliment to Muncie and yorktown. Where McCulloch is the bomber course, and Yorktown is the "tweener" course, this is a shorter, more tech course that would be better suited or someone just starting out. It's good to have that in the area.

scenery - beautiful plot of land on the prarie creek reservoir .

x factors - it sits right next to a campground and near an enormous park. you could bring the kids out and let the, play on the playground while you throw your plastic. they'll be near by.

There is almost no parking right now.

The walk between hole 5 and 6 is long enough that you could have almost put in 2 or 3 more holes. And to be frank, it really messes with the flow of the course.

No signs.

No navigation signs.

I didn't put a lot of cons on here, but there aren't a lot of them to be found, for a 9 hole beginner type course. There aren't a ton of different shots from the longs, but that's ok. Sometimes you need a shorter, more beginner friendly course in an area.

But again, it's only a 9 hole course right now. There is a chance that this course will be really awesome when it's done. But right now, there are no signs, very little to no parking, and there is a long way to go to get this place where it needs to be. Thus the 2.5 or "decent/typical" rating.
Personally, I wouldn't have added it to this site before the signs were put in.

I'll come back and rate this course again in a year/years when the course is done. if you're in the area, come out and have fun. But this is not yet a destination course.

-Very well laid out in a compact space. There is very little walking in between basket and next tee. There are generous size fairways on most holes and there are just the right amount of trees and brush to make shots interesting. Some trees have been removed or cut down to accommodate better spacing.
-There are multiple tee markers on various holes and the baskets are painted a bright green so they are easy to spot.
-There is a practice basket at the beginning of the course
-Fantastic scenery. Shooting down the long fairway that overlooks the reservoir is a plus. Hole 6 also gives you a good shot of the water as you approach.
-Although there are only nine holes, the strong play-ability will most likely influence you to play another nine.

Small gripes on a very nice course but:
-The tee markers are wooden stakes that have different colored ribbons designating the longer and shorter tees. A few of the longer markers are missing, particularly on holes 2 and 6. It is also a bit confusing on some holes whether there IS a longer tee.
-There are the occasional small tree stumps to contend with if you're not careful
-There isn't much of a parking lot which isn't a big deal unless it gets busy

Some good thought was put into planning this course. As a beginner, it is good challenging course with medium length shots with nice turns and one big bomber on 4. As a more advanced player, it would still appeal due to the wooded holes.
With the present conditions, it is not difficult to locate a disc in the rough and the course is covered in leaves which helps deter mud from being a problem when it rains.

This was a fun course. Medium in challenge, not too easy and no excessively long holes.

A lot of work has been put into the course to clear out
wide manageable fairways. You can still throw in the rough but a reasonably controlled throw is all you need.
There's enough curves to make it interesting.

There are 2 tees and 2 baskets (yes actual baskets) per hole making for 36 combinations of play.

This is an old corn field and the furrowed rows are still evident. So walking can be a bit awkward.

Take a copy of the course map on this site. Some of the baskets are in sight of each other and it's not always obvious which is the next basket (the map makes it simple).

Wow! I really do mean wow! The folks who are building this brand new course near Muncie, Indiana have done a TON of work clearing generous fairways already, and you can see where the plans are leading. For now, you're facing natural turf tees, and the last few holes seem to be still on the agenda for a little more thinning out, but this is a course that will see rising ratings as tee pads, signage and amenities go in, because the disc golf design is so good.

Starting on hole one, you'll see a multiple fairway warmup shot from the long tee to the nicely guarded green, and then step over to the short tee that requires an entirely different shot (this one a gentle left to right ace run). Walk up the obvious path to long 2 for its long, sweeping hyzer (rhbh) to a blind basket position, or choose the trickier S-shaped line that risks running the pines on the left of the fairway. Again, you could opt for the short tee that is nicely protected by the mid-fairway shrubs and trees. Every hole seems to have this much forethought: the short tees are clearly designed to be safely tucked off the main lines of flight needed from the longs, and they offer a fun, shorter course for newer players to enjoy the visit as much as the more advanced folks will from the longs.

Using the map, course flow is intuitive and well scaled, with no feel of repetitiveness. The distances on the map are spot on. The dual tees are staked clearly, and the baskets are bright and deep of cage (I like them!). You'll roll down the wide, grassy fairway on the big arm hole 4 for your first view of the pretty lake, and return for those views again after 6 and 8. The woods feel like they tighten up on you a little bit (forcing you to bring your technical game) on the last three holes.

With the possibility of three (!) tee options, added pin positions, and another set of nine holes coming someday in the future, this will be a highly valued (and rated) course. I look forward to visiting it periodically in the future and inching up my rating. Even though it's currently a 3.0 (so folks won't expect too much - it's brand new!) it won't be staying at 3.0!

If you need concrete tees and clear signage before you visit, you'll need to wait a little longer to come out and play Prairie Creek. And if you do come play, keep extra sets of eyes on errant throws. Though the fairways are fair, it gets thick and thorny if you press your luck and get into the rough (having been in there on a couple of shots made me really appreciate the work they've put in so far!).

Most of the course seems to handle water surprisingly well, but the tee pad area for long hole 6 (might've been long 8? sorry) seemed like it might stay muddy quite a while longer than the rest. And as far as parking is concerned, I'll paraphrase the sheriff from Jaws: they're gonna need a bigger lot!

Glad we got to play here the first weekend of spring. Very much looking forward to the evolution of this course! And Jerry humbly gave this a 2.5, but didn't need to be that modest...

Update 3/11/16: The course now has concrete tees at the blue tee locations. A tremendous amount of brush clearing has been completed. The course has matured well with more improvements to come with tee signs and improvements to the red tees. Alternate pin placements coming soon too. I have updated my rating to 3.0

This is a brand new course that is still under construction. There are 9 brand new Spiderweb 3 baskets in the ground. The area is exclusive to disc golf and the holes are fun and challenging. There are a few more trees, limbs, and bushes that need to be removed and work is underway to complete these refinements. There is also some slight elevation change in play on several holes. There are red tees and blue tees on each hole. The red tees are suitable for beginners and recreational players and the blue tees will challenge advanced and pro level players with tight fairways and well guarded greens. Accuracy will be required to score well. Gold tees will be coming soon.

Right now the tees are natural and unimproved and are marked with stakes. If you take the map you shouldn't have any trouble finding them. There are paths in the woods from the baskets to the next tee. The rough is very brutal in places. Better tee markers will be in place soon.

This course was built on a piece of land that had been allowed to become badly overgrown for many years. It takes a lot of work to cut it back and this work is ongoing. Please be patient as the fairways and greens are widened. Tee impovements will follow in the spring. I'm giving the course 2.5 stars for now because of the raw and unfinished condition of the fairways, rough, and tees, but with the dedicated efforts of the local players this course has the potential to become a 3.5 star course. Gold tees and alternate pin placements are a possibility and a potential for an additional 9 holes also exists that could make this a destination course.
11/3/14 Update: Much of the clearing has been completed. The fairways are really taking shape. Many thanks go to Stacy O'Dell and his crew for all of the hard work and efforts to sculpt this course out of the thick overgrowth. Stacy is the man!!
