Course Open! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jun 24, 2017 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

-Blue tees create Par 64 course for Recreational players.
-Several Par 4s.
-Good mix of wooded and open holes.
-Challenging layout!
-The red tees present a Par 56 option.
-Beautiful lake views!
-There is plenty of risk/reward without the use of water hazards. Wooded holes are tight, and open holes will make you pay if you go into the woods.

Cons:

-Not a great course for beginners. This course is quite difficult. Beginners may get discouraged by how mistakes are magnified.
-Ticks and poison ivy. (These are everywhere this time of year) Use bug spray and watch for leaves of three.

Other Thoughts:

-Course is located on the north end of the park where there has not been much traffic traditionally.

-There are some blind holes that cross pedestrian paths. Be sure to use spotters and verify no runners/walkers are present before teeing off.

Hole 1 is a tight wooded hole that breaks right to left slightly and may very well be the toughest on the course. It is a Par 4 with a Par 3 red tee option.

Hole 2 is another tight but short hole. it breaks sharply left to right.

Hole 3 is an open drive that ends in a grassy alley in the trees. Hills feed away from hole in the woods so stay out of the trees or pay. There is a red tee option.

Hole 4 is another shot similar to 3. Open right to left break ending in a grassy inlet within the trees. Watch for pedestrians coming around corners.

Hole 5 is open but with a gap through tree line to hole. You can hyzer over tree line, but you will pay if short. There is a red tee option.

Hole 6 Is a neat wooded tee box throwing into an open left to right break with goal behind tree line. Watch for pedestrians.

Hole 7 requires you navigate a huge oak tree with woods close on either side. There is a red tee option.

Hole 8 Tight wooded uphill shot that feeds to the right sharply at the top.

Hole 9 is a tunnel drive into an open hole that ends in the woods by the lake. USE A SPOTTER!

Hole 10 is a long open drive to a goal across the grass. There is a red tee option.

Hole 11 is a subtle left to right break with the goal tucked into the woods on the right.

Hole 12 is a long drive from tee breaking right to left to an uphill goal.

Hole 13 is a grassy strip that is tightly surrounded by trees. Throw straight or suffer. There is a red tee.

Hole 14 is a wooded uphill shot with a great view of lake.

Hole 15 is a straight drive into a goal that is tucked between three substantially bushy trees. Commit to right or left. You don't want to drive directly up to the right hand front tree.

Hole 16 is a long straight drive drive to the corner with goal tucked into woods. Leave your drive to the left or have no shot to goal. Red tee option.

Hole 17 is a tight wooded lane that fades a little to the left. Watch out for deer.

Hole 18 is a tight straight shot. Watch out for deer.
