Other Thoughts:

Just a quick note: Holes 3-5 and tee area for 6 are gone. Don't know if they have plans to reinstall them or not. Someone has recently mulched around the baskets, so they're still taking care of what's there.
I love this course. It's a fun course without much distance and many technical holes. Hope they reinstall when the soccer fields are complete.

A pro level course disguised as a beginner course 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 11, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

-The park is outstanding. Great facilities. Easy access off I40.

- Tee pads are outstanding.

- Great baskets.

- The signs are perfect. Not only do they provide distances, they have great maps, detailed OBs and even provide rulings for when going OB.

- No bad holes (see below).

- You can tell someone who plays designed this course. No tweeners, no impossible angles. No 90 foot hole followed by a 470 foot hole, etc.

Cons:

-As mentioned by many people, safety is a major issue here (See below).

-Felt like distances were off. Many holes I was coming up 30 - 40 short. As a 960ish player, I shouldn't consistently come up 30- 40 short on each throw.

- The land out there is fantastic. I was disappointed that the designer never chose to throw along the side of the hill. It was always directly up it or directly down it.

Other Thoughts:

If you look at this course on paper, it's very beginner friendly. Par 54 and no hole over 350 feet. However, beginners have no business playing this course. This is why I titled my review "A pro level course disguised as a beginner course."

As a 960 player, I had no issues on this course. Throwing along a road multiple times, being forced to go directly over it twice and choosing to go over it as the easiest way to the pin wasn't a major issue. Neither was throwing directly beside a soccer field twice. I have the ability and knowledge to know when I can throw and shouldn't.

However, these are major red flags for a beginner player who even if they possess the knowledge, don't possess the ability.

The holes in itself are great, however that is in the vacuum of ignoring where they are. Hole 2, for example, if you ignore the fact that you are throwing over a road and beside a soccer field, is a FANTASTIC hole. 290 forcing a straight shot directly uphill. But then you look where it is....

Also, don't play here if it's wet. Getting up and down some of the hills was hard.

I would not recommend this course to anyone below 900. It's simply not a safe place.
