Trail Blazer Park 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 15, 2022 Played the course:once

Pros:

-- Nice new, level concrete tee pads.
-- Nice course flow. Once you find No. 1 (north end of the parking lot), you shouldn't have any trouble. The course mostly plays clockwise around the edge of the park.
-- Port-o-potty on site.
-- Baskets appear to be used, but they still catch well.

Cons:

-- No map.
-- No seating at tees, but the course is so short and compact that this isn't much of an issue.
-- Holes 3-5 play too close together and a little close to the playground.
-- Almost no obstacles. The trees are sparse and too small to create any significant obstacle. Ground is pancake flat. Water (or at least a drainage ditch) could be in play on 6, 7 and 9, but 7 is the only real danger with the ditch 15 feet left of the basket.
-- Tee are marked by orange signs on small posts. They just have the hole number. You can see the basket, so it's not a big deal, but I would like to have distances.

Other Thoughts:

-- When you turn south on Harris Creek Road from U.S. 84 (across from the airport), the fourth left will keep you on Harris Creek Road. Shortly after that, Harris Creek Road makes a gentle, sweeping right turn. Go left at that Y and follow the road into the park. Do NOT use the address listed; you'll end up at a house (on a different street) a few hundred yards from the course.
-- With no holes as long as 250 feet (and three shorter than 200 feet), this is a beginner and family friendly course. It's decent (perhaps even good) for that target audience. Experienced player will likely be bored before they finish one round.
