UnderStable Midrange suggestion

This. YOu have comet. You dont need anything more understable.

I will politely disagree with you on this. The Comet isn't an understable disc. It's stable. It will, when thrown with good form, hold the line you send it on. It will fly an anhyzer line but not a turnover line (unless it's fairly beat - my beat 172 X still flies very straight). Having a true understable mold allows you to not only hyzer flip a straight line shot but also throw a true turnover and achieve sharper angles of turn that a Comet isn't able to make.

I also disagree with the Meteor suggestions for the distances he's asking about. It needs some power to fly correctly and will not hold a turn in that range.

I second the X Comet. I keep that in my bag more often than the Z Comet because it has a predictable right turn for me.

as t bird said the comet is not understable. they only way a comet will turn over is if you torque it.

@Osmo the axis is stable up to 300ft. I'm looking for something that will turn on a low power shot.

Justin hooked me up with a meteor and I think that will work good for me.

I'm gonna have to disagree with your disagreements. I carry a beat X-Comet that when thrown flat or with very little hyzer will flip straight and fade right and hold the fade the entire flight(RHBH) and it's not b/c I'm torquing in. I will say that it depends on what plastic your throwing it in though. My Z's need an Anny release, my ESP's will turnover and come back at the end of flight, but my X's are beat understable. Same thing with my FLX Buzzz's.

X Stratus is pretty good. I love how they feel. I use a HPP Element for this shot though, as I use it for my catch disc as well, so I am pretty confident with it.

I don't really think you're disagreeing with me.

DJ, I hope you can make that Meteor work for you.

definitely a flippy putter like an APX or Magic or Rattler. Or throw a forehand.

mids like the stratus, glide, meteor, cobra just arent going to turn on their own at that power. Gotta throw an anhyzer release and they may hold that...

just played a quick 12 hole game today and relized I have a hole in my bag for a good understable midrange disc.

Currently for Mids I carry a 174 Opto pain, 2 Axis's 174g and a 180g, and a 173 Z Comet.

What I am looking for is something i can throw flat powered for a 150ft. shot and have it Anny smooth and slow with a touch of fade at the end. Or power up for a ~250ft shot thrown on a decent hyzer and have it flip flat and hold it with as little fade as possible.

I have tried a beat D Buzzz but found it to be unreliable, and the X and Z comets and to picky I want something more forgiving.
I can't believe that I'm suggesting this but, you might actually want to try a Kite. :|

Personally, I'd look into the lids and putters others have suggested but yeah.

My friend has a beat to heck pro D avenger SS that he throws at like 50% power and it still turns over and glides a good ~30ft left-to-right thrown RHBH. he got it to try and learn that Dave Feldberg shot from the dgtv 94 or whatever that recent video was where flexy bends way back and gets a thumber-like flight path from a backhand shot. But he's been throwing it through woods with stupid good results for like a month. Gotta try it myself actually. Get a light one. 166-168 range

I'm thinking that Meteor won't do what you want, but it might. With your revised distance, I'd totally say Stingray or a light flat gl Core if you like to hyzer flip (it'll do it on a flat throw, too, depending on power). An XD would still do this on a strong hyzer flip. Stratus is still a great contender, but I really find the Stingray and Core to turn best with low ceilings and not burn out...Stratus is a little finicky under power and likes to rise up quick if you nose up by accident. Squall can work for this too, in standard plastic...pro Leopard not a bad contender either.

Gateway Element. Slightly more understable in S plastic. My E HPP Element is my favorite disc, period. Stop reading this and purchase one right now.

Took the words right out of my mouth. High-performance plastic is the way to go. Fine job by Gateway on this one.
