Possible Comentators When Disc Golf Is On TV

A lot of sports have taken to putting a mic on players. I nominate Gregg Barsby to inaugurate THAT!

I don't know how he is with live commentary rather than a script, but Warwick Davis is a celebrity with a strong voice and personality, who actually plays disc golf, unlike most of the names that have come up. For a famous athlete, I would like to see Aaron Rodgers try a disc golf broadcast.

Rodgers plays disc golf, too. He and Bubba Watson could team up.

And personally, I would love to do this myself. Connor and I need to get together and formulate a plan.

If I had to choose a sports or entertainment personality (or more than one), I would go with Scott Van Pelt as anchor for his voice and humor, with someone like Dave Dunipace in the booth for disc golf expertise (although I don't really know him.. I was just choosing a venerable disc golf personality who wouldn't necessarily be actually playing; people seem to like Crump, as well), and Charles Barkley on course so I can hear phrases like, "This guy here is throwin... what is that? A Firebird? That looks about a crazy knucklehead disc." And Kenny Mayne can do the humorous special feature interviews.

At my home course there is an amphitheatre and the stage is right next to hole 8. One sunny afternoon before a reggae show a straight off the boat Jamaican roady was unpacking the truck when he saw us step over to the tee. We were in a large group and he was blown away by disc golf. He immediatley said why isn't this in the olympics and proceeded to commentate on everyones drives. It sounded sweet hearing his strong accent and his outlook on what was going on. He said when this sport is in the olympics I want to be the annoucer. We threw 2 drives just to listen to him again. Any Jamaican man gets my vote.

If someone gave me good footage to work with, I think I could knock it out of the park. As a musician I have all the gear for more professional audio than most of the others already out there, haha.

Of course he could help allay the perception of any drug culture connected with this sport...

I like Billy Crump for the creep factor by how close he stands while interviewing. Barsby would be funny though. I like the idea of maybe Greenwell and a player that is not playing at the moment.

I would much prefer Terry Miller as color with Billy Crump as play by play. Let fellow players who aren't competing (Paige...ect) host player interviews.

Yes. Sorry David Greenwell, but you kind of drive me crazy and not the Crazy John good crazy kind of way

John Madden, just to see if he could fit in a farve reference into dg.

On a more serious note I think that our old friend Chain Addicted would be an interesting commentator for the game.:D

ME PLUS ARIC PLZ.

"Connor, this is what you call race realism..."

Adam Sandler and Madden.. "You see Adam, he's gotta get a birdie here. You put the disc in the basket you get a birdie. You get birdies you win events. He's gotta get this disc in the basket."

Billy Crump has always done a great job. I have to disagree with Greenwell. He is very knowledgable, but is very monotone and during the memorial this was the most common phrase; "oh my, what is he doing. I cannot believe this." followed by what he would have done.
