Tough bag choice

I want to get a smaller backpack, I really dislike my gateway one (I ordered the wrong one at the time, I do not know how anyone likes them - original not the ozark). So looking at cost down under and package deals I am torn.

Upper Park 2 pack, I get the smaller camel back bag and the nice mid sized bag for $205 landed. I am also considering these for my store so seeing them first would be a bonus.

Grip EQ bag from local store - $245

Bout the only two I would consider, any other backpack has niggling issues I truly dislike - especially the simian, ugh!.

Count me in the "love them" group. The only downside is that it doesn't have the capacity of some of the other bags. But since you said you're looking for a smaller bag, that shouldn't be an issue.

What do you want out of your bag? Disc capacity, other stuff, water bottles?

I know I know... But... Cabelas. Mine has a couple hundred rounds on it and you'd never know. I did plastidip it though, so that probably helped. Annnd it was 50 bucks.

compact design but with great use of available space, so yes the grip does fit it, but I do like the look of the upper park stuff and I do carry less discs then most (most rounds I just sac it). Grip is logical for me as I truly hate these massive wide bags that then whack water bottle holders on the sides making them look twice as wide!

If you don't carry a ton of discs, it sounds like the Upper Park is the best option for you.

x2. The creator is just slightly biased so here is my two cents on the contender.

First I haven't even received the bag yet but the price tag sold me, it's 155 USD. However this is bag is in no way cheap in quality. It is made from ballistic nylon, the best material on the market for a bag. practically indestructible and easy to wash off. I was actually critical and not a fan of the DD ranger bag at first. Once I could wear one and actually feel the material and size of it though I'd buy one if I had the cash and didn't already have my Grip. It's not boxy or huge like the pictures make it seem. It's actually no bigger than my Grip on the back but way more storage. The top compartment isn't insulated but it's real close and I could easily stick a sixer of beverage in that part. It's waterproof. :thmbup: The bottom disc rack is easier to take discs in and out of and I like the putter pocket on the side and no so much the grip hide a pocket. I do prefer the drink holders on the grip though. It's also more comfortable than the grip. It has padded back things that run horizontal and just feel nicer. Straps I would say are about the same maybe thicker on the grip.

I have one of these backpacks. They are actually really comfortable if you take the stupid roll cage out. Try putting one of these in. May have trouble locating one though. I would also suggest getting a piece of foam to line the bottom with just in case.

^^^this! I myself have a grip but am switching to a DD Ranger, but my buddy just ordered one of these. They hold a TON of discs but are still smaller in size than a grip.

Yep, I was going to mention this, as well. Looks to be configurable in multiple ways - put the discs horizontally for a disced down round, or put them in the slots AND in the bottom for the full tourney setup. Aluminum frame to keep it upright. $180.
