Hey Buzzz peeps. I used to bag a couple ESP FLX Buzzzes. I threw them for everything forever, but they have both resided in the Red River for about 12 years now.

I still daydream about those discs. Because as much as I love Rocs and Comets, I've never found another mid that worked as well for me on hyzer-flip lasers that stay about 10 feet off the ground, don't turn, and barely fade at all. And my god, how they felt in my hand...it was like a Vulcan mind meld but with plastic.

Anyway, is there any Buzzz in production today that's like those old ESP FLX Buzzzes? I've gone through a few McPro Roc3s that were really close, but they had a tick more fade, and they'd eventually get a little squirrely and I'd have to be a little more touchy with them.

Also, hey Discraft, could you make those again?

Never heard of ESP FLX but did some research. According to what I found it's US compared to normal ESP and just as durable. Might be wrong, but that might be the Big Z now. Big Z according to the web is a mix of Z and ESP. Someone with more knowledge about those plastics will chime in shortly though.

I don't think so. The new runs of ESP are stiff & very stable. You might want to try a lighter weight Big Z. Maybe around 167-170g. Still won't be as flexy as FLX.

Older stamp no flight numbers ESP or BigZ would be my recommendations. Haven't thrown a new Z recently since I have enough backups as is, but I'm assuming they're more overstable like the current run of ESP.

How beat up were those two FLX ones you mentioned? No new Buzzz will fly like a beat one, have you ever held a BuzzzSS? There's very subtle differences between that and a normal Buzzz, maybe worth looking into for the time being until you beat up a new Buzzz a bit?

Just a question - are folks buying the 5X Buzzzes for the stamp, collectability, possibility of a tweaked flight, or none of the above?

I saw a bunch at GGGT, and decided the 4x ones I own will have to do.

I think mostly for the stamp. New stamp hype train. Imo I think the new 5x stamp are a little too busy.

hate to burst yalls bubble

i stock piled esp flx buzz back before they went oop

the closest thing i think ive found would be an x buzz as far as flight and feel however the durability isnt there

the old esp flx was damm near indestructible the ones ive had were used and abused and didnt have a spot on the top or bottom or wing that wasnt covered in scratches

z flx just always felt wrong to me and they had that miss matched top and bottom deal which is stupid

They seem neither rare or absurdly expensive. They were $17.99 at GGGT. DGC has them at $19.99, which for those with the loyalty discount ends up the same. Rotsa ruck to folks trying to make a killing on those with such slim margins.

its all about that burst

get the colors everyone is after or that unique one

or keep regs in a closet for 10 years and hope they are worth moar or at least stayed the same

Is that a thing? I bought several Z FLX Buzzes a while ago because I prefer a grippy plastic like G*, and they just never felt quite right to me.

I have an X Buzzz that feels closer to Star/G* and feels pretty ideal for me, but I also have a Heat and a Mantis in X that are nowhere close to that same feel, so I've been afraid to buy anything else in X as I'm not sure what it's actually supposed to feel like.

I have noticed this on some buzzzes of late, like the top or bottom mold (can't remember which) has a little overhang on one side causing a bit of a sharp lip. Sucks for the hand feel at the very least.

It would make sense if they have been through a number of Buzzz molds, or that they have a number in rotation. Nothing a little (a lot?) of legal sanding won't fix but... cmon guys, it's a buzzz, keep it consistent.

mine are slightly off center

there is an overhang thats the most noticeable on one side

x has been a huge dice roll over the years

my first x was a old school tye dye one that was like hollow

then ive had slick x and grippy x and everywhere in between

however the x has pretty solid durability for what it is/pro plastic

agreed

however mine would require a lot of sanding/moar effort than im willing to put into it so i just choose to roll my eyes in disgust every time i choose to throw it
