2019 Pros Switching Sponsors Official Thread

The bigger question is, could Paul win throwing the Discraft lineup? Do they have close enough comparable plas.... wait...there is no fking way Paul is leaving Innova... Discraft couldn't afford McBeast anyway.

If Innova can afford him, discraft can too. They make more money than innova, as they control the ultimate market, which is far bigger than disc golf's. That being said, I still don't think he would leave, or see why he would leave. Seems like a dumb rumor someone started.

I wonder if Discraft's Ultimate sales are that big, it's not like teams or players need alot of discs or variety. And I doubt the discs take that much of a beating, so how often are players/teams etc actually buying new plastic? hmm....

They make more money than Innova? What's your proof besides unfounded belief that ultimate is a GIANT source of profit? What do they sell for ultimate besides a $12 disc?

It doesn't add up to me. Not even a little bit.

Maybe I am very wrong. I do think that ultimate is a bigger source of profit than disc golf. Definitely not a giant source of profit. I have a hard time believing this rumor is in any way true, as I said. I just don't think it is true that Innova would be able to pay him a large amount more than Discraft could.

It also doesn't make business sense to throw money at a portion of their business that doesn't make as much money. Not enough return on the investment.

Exactly. I didn't know there were professional ultimate players with million dollar multiyear contracts.

Apparently the entire usdgc field is playing the wrong sport.

Discraft might make more money on ultimate than they do on Disc Golf.

8mil revenue - https://www.owler.com/company/discraft
3mil revenue - https://www.owler.com/company/huckthisblog

But combined they don't even come close to innova.

52mil revenue - https://www.owler.com/company/innovadiscgolf

Willing to bet you could combine all the other disc golf companies revenue and they would still be short of Innova.

Wow! I am definitely wrong. I thought Discraft would be making more money than that from ultimate. Innova is killing it. This rumor is even worse now than I thought it was a minute ago lol.

A certain disc golfer already makes that much (more actually)... He's not leaving Innova for 250k. I bet you'd need to double/quadruple it to get him.

250k in cash? I could believe in total comp when you added up % sales, clinics, tournament bonuses, etc. But 250k flat out in cash seems high. Of course I know absolutely zero about player's deals and prefer to keep it that way.

My kids are definitely going to be throwing discs at a young age though.

All the money is coming from his sponsor so that number includes what you listed except clinics (and whatever etc includes).

Those links do not seem definitive in any way. The second link is for a company headquartered in California. Discraft is Michigan.

I wonder how valuable McBeth's Innova signature discs would become to collectors if he switched to Discraft?
