Thats the kicker. The US (and Finland for that matter) is full of amazing throwers of the frisbee. But that narrows down considerably when you have to be consistent over several rounds, on punitive courses, in a high pressure situation, on camera, against the elite players who do this for a living and living is good for them.

If Brodie makes top 20 in any real event with a stacked field even once IMO thats a big win for him.

For Dustin I dont know. We will see. But top 20 ought not to be such a huge moment for him.

If Brodie throws a proD buzzz 174+ for hims driver putter spot he could win some tournament early in the season when new tournament players with their new sponsors are trying out their new bags. Mine has a built in stool. If they throw a disc like a pro style upshot 166 then they could win too. That disc is like a DX XD that I gave to my uncle in 2003-2004. He uses it for his upshots and uphill and downhill putts. A local pro from the Swedish Trilogy throws judges.

Brodie has an incredible level of talent and experience throwing a disc, so I think he will have some amazing throws this year. Disc golf also requires line shaping, use of many types of disc and dealing with a lot of obstacles he may or may not acclimate to.

Personally I think he will do well, but the main test will be if he is content with making mediocre money as he goes along. His Discraft contract could be good, since his internet presence is very high, but if it's not making him as much cash as doing trick shot vids and such he may tire of it quickly.

Lol his YouTube channels pays out more money in 1 month than half of the disc golf pro tour combined. Money is the last thing on his mind.

Doesn't he have to turn pro first?

I thought you can play in open even though you're an am you just can't accept cash? I could be wrong on that, will the pdga allow him to change his classification in the middle of the season as well

Proof that even Brodie knows he won't be a top rated player.

I voted for Brodie, but only because he has a cooler name.

Isn't there already a Brodie Smith thread? I dare say one is more than enough. Maybe this can just be merged?

The hate this guy has for Dustin Keegan is pretty entertaining. I don't know the backstory and don't really care if I do (I haven't been around long enough to see the drama), it's just funny. Anyway, carry on lol.

All I know is that Brodie Smith is not related to me.

My Last name is Smith. I might be related to a different Smith who plays, Chris Smith a lower rank from Dynamic Disc, we never met. He comes from an area that others in my family came from in Missouri in the Kansas City region, well small town just outside Kansas City Missouri.

Brodie imo will be probably the fastest player to be 1000 rated. He has a frisbee background, pros teaching him and he has a ton of free time to dedicate himself. By this time next year don't be surprised if he's already better than half of the touring pros and coming out with a signature disc.

And Brodie is one big strong dude to begin with, that fact everyone seems to be overlooking. The guy's an athlete and a lot bigger and stronger than most of his competitors.

No one's over looking that, we just know that doesn't matter when it comes to proper form. Top pros in disc golf are not "strong dudes".
