Best Anhyzer Disc for the Shots

Looking for the best disc for making mid-range anhzer shots. Both these shots are a bit out of range for a putter(but not impossible). Pretty sure I am not alone, but I have difficulties getting the right anhyzer out of putters because of how the putter feels in my hand. I usually put too much snap.

I am thinking of two shots. The quick around the corner nearly spike anhyzer that you have to get flat or the disc may want to roll. The second is the quick right turning pipe hole shot(150-200feet) that is too tight and turning to get much distance using a side arm because of how quick the lane turns(not impossible for a side arm, but the anhyzer is more appropriate for the shot)

I have been using an ESP Meteor for its speed(which aint much), glide, and durability. I am kind of against lower grade plastics, but see advantages for making these shots with beat up plastic. I constantly see the old timers cutting it up with an elite X Stratus, so I know that's reliable for making these shots.

Any other discs anyone likes to goto for pulling off these anhyzer shots, other than a putters?

I use a Star Stingray for both of the shots you described.

Anny release for the short spike throw.

Hyzer flip for the longer, slower turning shots.

Or, depending on your midrange of choice, be it Roc or Buzz, just beat one of those to heck. To tide you over, yeah, a stingray or a stratus aren't too bad- I'd say I've had better luck with stingrays personally over the stratus- but I've never thrown the latter haha.

Don't worry about getting star plastic- it's more expensive, you may not even like the disc, and it is more overstable, so I figure why not pay less to get more anhyzer.

I agree with just using the "stable" mid (I just use my Core) but while the Roc you might want to beat in a bit, you dont have to for a Buzzz (similar to my Core). Just snap it good.

for me, anhyzers <280' are usually putters and >280' are usually mids.

The first shot you described:

If I have a ton of height I will use a Wizard/Rhyno/BB Aviar/Banger/overstable putter. These have the stability you need to get flattened out before they land. Other putters don't do this as readily.
If you have to use a mid because of distance ir height restrictions I would still go with a slightly overstable mold like a somewhat-beat Roc or a Buzzz. If you chose something with less stablility you might have troubles getting it to flatten out on lower lines. A stratus on a low line will turn very easily but dig into the ground when it lands and roll the opposite direction of the turn. This would be counterproductive.

The second shot you described:

That is a tough one to visualize. The hole I am picturing in my head could be a putter or a mid, FH or BH, airshot or BH roller. I think I would try a Comet or a neutral-stable putter like an APX or a Magic.

good luck

This man knows his stuff, listen well.

I'm also having a hard time visualizing a turn that is to sharp for a FH that an anny would do better on. The only thing I can think of is something that needs to turn the corner, then flatten out and go straight or flatten out so that it can fade again (basically a fairly sharp S tunnel). On either case you want something that can fight out of the anny so that it doesn't keep going right or roll.

Mid range Anhyzer

I would have to say this is a tuff question. I like to use a Buzz Esp and Star Mako. Both are great disc and very controlable. Both discs are easy to turn over for nice anhyzer shots. All you have to do is follow through and the disc will do the rest. To me these disc are must haves for every disc chucker!

Ion and Fuse are what I use. and Marmoset is correct. The less stable discs can roll if you throw the high spike any. I have done that with a Stingray.

stingray

Stingray is a great disc for anhyzer shots. The dx plastic is good to go right out the box. The star need a little more snap, but not much. A cobra is nice as well. For drivers sidewinders are pretty sweet.

I am surprised no one has said this yet, but for the 2nd scenario, the Lat64 Fuse is awesome. I have never had another disc that holds an anny line like it does. For me, it doesn't flip and flattens out nicely...holds its line with a ton of glide. Like others have said, I am having a hard time visualizing scenario 1, but it sounds like something I would throw a River for.

I end my comment by saying that I am not partial to Lat64, my bag is well mixed, but for these scenarios they work well.

Something that is stable or just slightly overstable.

Understable discs have a tendency to dive towards the ground and come up short. But you can put a good amount of anny on a stable disc so it will turn over then flatten out and glide, rather than hitting the ground and rolling.

- Edit -
I just read the original post and for midrange shots, I go beat Roc or Condor.
