I still won't throw it backhand unless I need to go out about 100' and turn SHARP left. Forehand or thumber though, that thing is money.

i have two of them, one i found and one i bought, and use it strictly for the overhand game. i only know one other person who throws the flick and he uses it for a hard, fast turn much like ejvogie mentioned. it's also a great roller disc, if you can make it flip just right. it's my second-favorite thumber disc, and i use it for controlled lines up to 200ft through trees.

Driver: Domey Star Destroyer 175 (Stable as hell, and impossible to throw for someone without a gun. But flight chart numbers indicate it should fly different which would frustrate the heck out of them)

Midrange: #2 hyzer (Too overstable, and a Lightning disc, so it must suck right?)

Putter: Blowfly (Useless as an actual putter, just useless)

Blowfly is an excellent disc.....

The Polecat hate must cease, it is by far a bad choice for beginners.

I like elnino's set-up but I'll tweak it a bit:

Driver: Max weight CFR Champ Viper
Mid: Wham-o's midrange (bank?)
Putter: 10 m brick.

Same here. All of the starter kits around these parts have disc that weigh 150 and 160. WTF? I have discs from 170-176, but prefer 174 & 175.

Driver: max weight DX Destroyer (because it sounds cool & the DX logo is a transformer robot thingy so that looks mean)
Mid: Tie-dye Teebird (the color blends in as soon as it hits the ground & you lose it shortly after you throw it)
Putter: Turbo putter (illegal in PDGA events)
