Metal/Wire in new disc. WTH?

I was kidding, I'd never call someone on that, but technically any disc containing metal is illegal for pdga play.

All Innova discs contain metal. Go onto the PDGA discussion board to the Ask Dave thread for proof. He explains it in there that they use metal salts in the plastic mix to give more density and hence more weight. If you've ever traveled through an airport with your discs, they set off the metal detectors.

I've done this and the metal detectors definitely didn't go off on me.

 that's what i initially thought. maybe a nipple hair from the guy pouring the plastic into the machine?

why wasn't he wearing a shirt? weird.

metal detectors have never gone off on me either. i don't think a metal salt is technically a metal, it's a salt. i could be wrong though.

Put the disc on ebay: Super rare mold with metal in it 1 of 1!

That is pretty interesting I never seen anything like that in a disc. And yeah I looked at several of mine just to make sure. Magnets in disc is pretty novel idea.

This could be a big problem!!! What are all the people that only buy Discraft due to their perfect quality control and consistency going to do?? I would expect a flood of marketplace offerings any minute now.

Looks like a pube to me.

Off of a ginger (thus the color) who shaves often (thus the length) who has curly hair (thus the pretzel shape).

I call shenanigans on your inductive reasoning.

i'd contact Discraft and ask for a replacement. (they might hook you up???)

it's not PDGA approved and as such they should gladly replace your disc.

as much as it's a manufacturing defect, if i were playing in a tournament or for a lot of money (more than $1 doubles) i might enforce the no metal rule. it's a rule, you know about it, and should willingly accept that you cannot play with it. a rule is a rule.

No matter how insignificant the wire may be, you are playing with illegal piece of equipment.

Never mention it again and reap the countless benefits this piece of metal will grant you!

I agree with Sloppy, I'm constantly hearing, "Discraft's molds are flawless", "High quality work, high quality product", in reference to Discraft's molding process. This is worse than any defect I've ever seen in an Innova disc, and I've seen specks, bubbles and slight bumps/dings and such from the factory....never have I seen this ever!
