It seems to me that Innova has been coming out with a whole lot of high speed drivers in the past few years. Do yall think they are trying to stay the popular brand by putting out these discs for the noobs. I know discraft come out with the nuke, but they also have the buzzz ss and hornet.

Innova will always do anything they can to remain as a popular brand....just like every other disc manufacturer. Its called business.

Not really sure what your point is here.

It's pretty normal business. They will continue to make discs, as well as the other manufacturers...and they will sell a ton just cuz.

I think what he means to say is Innova's new discs have ONLY been high speed drivers whereas Discraft has been putting out discs all over the speed range (from the Nuke, Hornet, Buzzz SS, Stalker)

To that thought I'd respond that yes that's true, but another way to look at it is Innova makes multiple runs of existing molds - most notably the Roc - that seem to have slight tweaks.

okay well it just seemed like they were just putting out alot of speed 12 and 13 drivers and not alot of mids and putters. When was the last putter or mid they come out with?

The Mako last year?

yea forgot about the mako. Is it just me or does discraft appeal to the younger generation better? all the new players in my area like throwing discraft stuff

Innova has more models of discs than anyone else. Thier range is unequalled in the business.
You can find an Innova disc for any shot.

This means that the company can no longer fill slots in the flight chart, but must add new ones. Faster drivers have been a trend for 10 years now, its nothing new.

Every other company making discs has plenty of slots to fill in thier disc lines, so they can bring out thier versions of Innova discs for years to come.

Innova will continue to dominate the business by reissuing the most popular versions of thier successful discs, like new versions of CE Teebirds and Augusta Wraiths, as well as providing the most comprehensive lineup available anywhere.

Don't forget about the wedge either. It's a new mid/putter type disc.

New Innova non-drivers since the Destroyer (first Speed 12 disc came out) in '07.

Mako - approved September 18, 2009
Pig - approved May 20, 2008
Pulsar (super class) - approved June 2, 2008
Sonic - approved September 19, 2007
Wedge - approved December 9, 2010

None of these have exactly been hits. The Wedge of course just came out, but I don't see it getting anything like the hype the Wahoo and Vulcan are getting.

Gee. Maybe Innova IS on to something. Like we have a bunch of players who think they can buy distance with a super sexy bomb driver, but could care less about their short game.

When you have the Aviar what else do you need?

Innova is just marketing to the masses with high speed understable drivers.

This pretty much sums it up. Everyone is on the Lat. 64 bandwagon for their new discs but IMO it is because it is something different. and that is all what people want. Even Discmania uses Innova molds and change around the top and bottoms. Its hard to improve on the best discs that are already out there.

I know this post is going to be super vague as I have no real information but...

Someone yesterday said that Innova was coming out with a new putter. I don't remember who said it but at the time I remember feeling like they knew what the heck they were talking about. :|

I don't necessarily agree that putting out more high speed drivers than anything else is benefiting less skilled players. My two cents to Innova is to put out more mid-speed drivers than just faster and faster discs. When I first started the fastest thing out there was the Orc and it took me a while before I would even start throwing one of those. Someone posted the mid ranges/super class discs released in the last few years and there's no real in between from those to the Destoyer, Boss, Xcaliber... that has been put out. But I guess Innova is more focused on the faster discs and trying to make them more beginner friendly to bring in more cash.

I agree with everything here. They have a boatload of discs and different versions of molds, so of course they just want to go faster, bigger, and better.
Not that I agree with that, but it may be because I dont have the arm yet for high speed discs.
If they recreated versions of old molds that would give them even more recognition. This is what they need to do imho. Start bringing back the old molds! I know they can't bring back the old money plastic, but im sure they could figure out ways to mold them to resemble the older discs.
