^This. Why are penalty strokes less important than other strokes in evaluating your skill at the game?
That is like saying someone who can put all their drives within 5 feet of the basked but misses all their putts and shoots even is better than someone who sucks at driving and shoots even...
Yeah I can tell by your previous posts that you understand the concept. I wasn't trying to be condescending or anything, just trying to clarify for others reading the thread.
Lift is just a force. A "negative" lift vector is effectively a positive net force on the top surface of the disc (higher pressure above than below).
Throwing a disc truly "nose down," meaning the angle of attack is less than the point with zero lift, would result in a throw that goes pretty...
Only slightly off topic and I realize this was probably not your point, but there is no such thing as bagging advanced. Advanced is not a ratings protected division.
"Yes" and "No" are probably not the best options for the poll in the context of the question. Yes, I play better in heavily wooded courses. No, I do not play better in open courses.
I wish people would stop feeling entitled to cash or win if there are players who are better than them. I think there should be two essential divisions and age protected versions of each: open (cash) and amateur (trophy). If you play as an am and someone beats you, they get the trophy. Don't...
I just moved to Chattanooga recently as well, so I am not exactly brimming with local knowledge, but I would be glad to play and help you with your backhand form.
The Chain Kings facebook page seems to be the most active source of info on the happenings in Chattanooga. The sinks forum and the...
If you are willing to drive to the Cleveland area to play Roscoe or Parma, you should check out Punderson instead. It is by far the best course in the area IMO. I personally like it better than any of the Pittsburgh courses, including Moraine and Deer Lakes.
Also, FYI, Roscoe only has 16...
I have actually done this exactly (with a resistance band). I attach the other end to the middle hinge on a door frame. I feel like it helps me tell which muscles are engaging as I go through the throw in slow motion. The other thing it is good for is feeling the pull on a straight line...
I have played with Tony before. The guy can BOMB. It looked to me from the video that a course like that one will reward distance if you keep it in bounds. My guess is that he had some OB strokes in the last round that he managed to avoid before that. But I am just guessing... Anyways...
Lots of great advice here that I can use as well. I video'ed myself today and my throw looks VERY similar to the OP. The place I noticed it on myself was the hit pic, where the pros shoulders are nearly facing the target when the disc is released, whereas mine and wildwing's are still close to...
I think you got it right that the USDGC is more like the US Open and the Vibram Open is more like the Masters.\
Also, if you have too many majors, there becomes nothing "major" about them. Four is a good number.
Thank you guys very much for the responses. I will take some time to watch those videos and digest your comments and then post back with questions to make sure I am understanding correctly.
