HOD 3/15/2022: The Village DGC Hole #10 Glen Allen, VA

TL3 generally. Undertaker more recently. Fun hole. Random story - About 4-5 years ago, right as a friend was letting loose his drive on the pad (this is hole #10), a previously unseen turkey, apparently nestling next to a nearby log, jolts up with a loud / startled gobble and bolts away...

Members Who Have Played 100 Courses!

Nearly 20 years of playing. Reached the ~100 course milestone two summers back at The Lair at Lake Marshall. One of the best courses I've ever played, so that worked out nicely. It will be interesting to see how long / if 200 is personally attainable. Not having as much free time as I once...

    Revolution Disc Golf Bags

doth, Checking out your unboxing of the Revo bags, and having had a few of their bags in the past, including the Carolina, I believe they used to describe the rubber bottom material as ‘two layers of truck vinyl’. fwiw

    Disc golf road trips

During your Asheville leg of the trip, would strongly recommend making the drive down to Hendersonville to play Jackson. A notch above Sandhills for sure and some may say gives Richmond Hill a run for its money. Can’t speak firsthand to Black Mountain or Lake Julian but don’t rule out Jackson...

    VA Courses / Sunset

Which course did you hit up, if any? Sandusky is fun, though perhaps on the short side, plus some holes that may be a bit too close for comfort with neighboring holes. Next time you're in that neck of the woods, Walnut Creek to the north up Rte. 29 (pretty drive) is one of the best in the...

HOD 7/25/2019: New Quarter Park Hole 16 in Williamsburg, VA

One of the best holes on an awesome course. It's a shame the pin is so rarely in the C position, because it makes the hole that much more fantastic, capitalizing on the full elevation of that section of woods. A beat Thunderbird or Surge off the blue tee, regardless of pin position, and likely...

    Sasquatch DGC discussion

Anyone play the 27 hole layout anytime recently? Headed down in a few weeks and hoping for any / all feedback on the newer extended layout, re: ease of navigation, flow, fun factor, etc. Thanks in advance!

HOD 2/6/2018: New Quarter Park Hole 5 in Williamsburg, VA

Love this hole. One of my faves at one of my favorite courses. From the white tee, it's a big turnover uphill (RHBH) with a beat Champ Leopard for key fairway placement, setting up for a bomb up and over at the B pin with the Wizard. Nailed the deuce a couple years back with a 125'ish flex...

Another course threatened - Pendleton King Park

You mean the Bronx? The new stadium is across the street from the old one, with the old space now a public park / ball fields.

    Corolla North Carolina

There's a course in Kill Devil Hills being installed as we speak, though the baskets are likely not yet in the ground. I believe the below website has previously mentioned a target opening date of Memorial Day weekend. Fingers crossed, as I'll be down that way soon as well. Sounds like some...

    Rockness, Sasquatch, UNC-Insider Knowledge?

Edit: It looks like Pepper's in Chapel Hill is now closed, which is unfortunate. Looks like there's a brewery / across the street now, FWIW. That corridor of Franklin St. most likely has some good options all the same.

    Rockness, Sasquatch, UNC-Insider Knowledge?

Great choices - all three rate very high on the fun-factor scale, IMO. If time allows, I would recommend getting all the holes in at Rockness as each bonus hole is worth it. Sasquatch has an additional pin on #2, in case you don't want to quite go for the long drive-bomb over the water. The...

    Dorey or Pharaoh's

I believe that Dorey is the superior course. It offers more seclusion from the rest of the park, unlike Pharaoh's which frequently plays across or directly adjacent to other park features. Dorey has actually just undergone a bit of a revamp due to the installation of the Virginia Capital Trail...
