Tampa
Former Tampa local, soon to lose the "former" of that again.. I can't wait. Anyhow, my two cents:
- If you want the best views, interesting terrain, and to throw two holes on the gulf of mexico, play Picnic Island. It's my personal favorite in Florida. Now is the perfect time to play it...
Sedgley Woods
To my knowledge, the Sedgley Woods blue tees, for holes 1-18 are the original Steady Ed design for the course. They added 9 more holes that are not part of the original design.
Florida Gulf Coast
I wish I wasn't moving to the atlantic coast for Florida to relocate for a job. What we have going here on the Gulf Coast:
- Awesome courses (though flat) all over, including a recently installed Ken Climo gem known as Cypress Point (Par 66), Cliff Stephens (25 holes of pure...
4.00 star(s)
Looking forward to 18!!
To set the table... This review comes from an intermediate level primarily LHFH player with a PDGA rating of around 890.
Scenery - Picnic Island is one of the most unique courses I've ever played. It reminds me of a links style ball golf course with some rolling Florida...
Extra Holes
What did you think of the new additions? Did you find them all? Sometimes the one along 19 is misssed. I like all of the new ones except for the one immediately after the former B (now 17 I think) Hole. It's a poke and pray shot.
As for the course update, I keep forgetting to...
Nockamixon is missed
I went from living 35 minutes away to thousands of miles away from this gem of a course. I have to agree, Nockamixon is better than your favorite course. Here's why. Where else can you go where you can get incredible nature (I've seen many of deer, snakes, and other...
Cypress Point is in
The Champ's new course is now playable. There is a map floating around on the tampa bay disc sports club page on facebook. Par 66 deliciousness, two par 5's. From what I hear the inaugural doubles event is set for 3 pm sunday, hosted by the Champ.
Hate to send links but here is a link of the 18 hole map.

There is plenty of space there. That's the reason why there was a bit of walking between the 9 holes, to claim...
Update on Cypress
Big workday coming up tomorrow, allegedly including tees being poured. I've been told it will be playable the first or second week in April.
Cypress Point
They are having a work day on 3/26/14 to carve out some fairways. Tees and/or baskets will be getting put in on the same day. According to what I've heard, the course should be playable by the first week in April, providing that rain doesn't interfere. I'll take a Par 66 with an...
Love me some turkey lake!
I am a West Tampa resident, myself. Clearwater has a great scene with Cliff Stephens (my favorite course down here) and Coachman, along with the store of course. Then, Taylor Park just down the road in Largo has a great scene and good course (just not the challenge of...
Then go to Lemon Lake in Indiana. That is no more than 15 minutes off I-80. 4 courses (technically 5 as gold/silver is one course but two very distinct tee boxes), ridiculously manicured, can't go wrong. I regret only playing Blue (the most open course) and Gold. I wish I could have played Red...
I-76 through all of PA is a toll road.. So, if you want to jump on and off, the closest options are:
1. Gifford Pinchot State Park outside of Harrisburg. You'd take the exit onto I-83 for that. They have a short Boulder Woods course, and a very tough Quaker's Challenge course.
2. Roland Park...
What highway are you taking into Philly? I-76 or are you coming more north? I just did the trip in the opposite direction in May. Lemon Lake in Indiana is right off of I-80 where PDGA worlds are. I played that before I went into Chicago. Let me know your answer and I can direct you. I play all...
